Make your excuses for him all you want. Ultimately the head coach must bear the weight of a losing team. This is a losing team. Gibbs has the talent here, but poor coaching, poor personnel decisions and poor execution = another season of mediocrity. This team is 8-8 at best, and if that's the best he can do, then I say hire a GM and Russ Grimm.

The only resume on Monster.com for GM is Casserly. I agree that we need one, but where do you go? There needs to be some young upstart. College players are different now. The NFL is different. Personally, I would have preferred a Bethard hire over a Gibbs hire. If we make a change in coaching (Gibbs will step down - he will not be fired), I'd rather see Cower than Grimm. Mainly because if Cower is here, Greg Williams is gone.

I want to see those stats,my research shows romo with no starts in 03,04,05,started week 8 last yr,that doesnt add up to 28-18

10 starts in '06 and 11 in '07. But again, do the number initial starts really matter? If they do than the 11 career stats of Derek Anderson would make him 3 time better than Romo with far inferior talent surrounding him. And this is guy who would even have 9 starts this year if Brady came to camp on time. Right????

No excuses, all I want is this franchise to be a Superbowl contender year in and out. You are absolutely right on the Head Coach being responsible for the success/failure of his team. But, we do not currently have playoff caliber talent on this team right now. Campbell will get there, but this is essentially still his first season, Portis is past his prime and not a good fit for our offense, or WRs are awful, our OL is playing with a backup RG & RT (an undrafted FA). On defense, our DL scares no one, Washington has been hurt, Fletcher is an All-Pro level player, our corners are average at best, Landry is a rookie and Taylor is out. Poor execution has nothing to do with coaching, that is on the players.

Are Greg Williams and Al Saunders good coordinators, I don't think so. Have the poor personnel decisions been their fault, yes. Lloyd and Randle El were hand picked by Saunders and Archuletta was hand-picked by GW. Gibbs isn't going to throw those guys under the bus, but I've said in other posts, after the season, Gibbs needs to go into the front office as the GM with complete control and a new coach needs to be brought in.

Is Russ Grimm the answer at Head Coach, I don't know. Arizona isn't blowing the doors of the offensive stat categories and Pittsburgh didn't last year either.

I dont know what your talking about,I'm just comparing number of starts of campbell and romo, which i dont believe is 28-18,I think romo has 3 more reg season starts than jason, and he just looks like a much better qb

Well one more year will tell us if JC is the man or not. I would hope if the QB from Mizzou is available we would take him. Tough, cannon arm, quick, can run, smart. JC is good, but we have lost too many games on the last drive as a result of a late turnover as we are trying to stage a comeback like today. Gibbs isn't the man anymore.

Hey folks.
I think a lot of the problems have to do with us....the fans.
I haven't said too much this season and am as devistated as everyone on every painful loss....BUT...

This was a 5-11 team last year and the majority of everyone here thought this was a playoff team....I disagreed....I thought this was a 7-9 team, 8-8 at best....and though it is easy to buy into this 10-6 record crap....the defense is not a top 10 Defense...Greg Williams is a lot more passive than he claimed to be....Saunders hasn't done anything different

I've been calling from shotgun and hurry up offense since the beginnning of the season and they only let Campbell do this in the last 3 games.

The truth is....these games are devistating losses because Campbell is keeping it close....our team's talent and coaching is average right now.
Campbell is doing more than we can ask. He will be solid.
We have issues with Oline injuries WR talent, Dback injuries.
Miracuraciouly, the Dline has outperformed our expectations....which most of us are suprised about.

The truth is....this team is better than last year but is not a playoff team....most here are homers and made projections based off of their rose colored glasses....

This is a 7-9 type team....if they play better than that this year, we should be happy....they certainly are keeping us in all games and that is a good thing.

Unfortunately, all these close wins and lossses are giving me an ulcer.

Next year is the only year anyone could possibly project a 10-6 season.

Dude, Read my post. I corrected the misstep by telling you its 21 to 18 that is the three you speaking of - but again, does it really matter when you are not comparing apples to apples. Again if initial stats matter Derek Anderson's 11 make him GOD.

Who is a FA after this season? 10-6 is a very generous mark for this team if we lose some key components. We are a bunch of maroons(Bugs Bunny) and dupes for always buying into the hype surrounding this team. Saunders and Williams are crappy at best. Gibbs is not the same man as in 1981-92, and is only a medicore coach anymore. We keep these maroons around another season, any real talent we have will bolt for other teams, then we will be in a constant state of flux. We are in trouble, big, big, trouble!
