I was just listening to Redskins Radio, and they said that we picked up Anthony Mix. Mix played with JC at Auburn, and he caught 3 passes for 39 yards this year with the Giants. By the way he is 6'5 240lbs.
Redskins Radio: Skins sign WR Anthony MixRMSkins 11-20-2007, 01:45 PM I was just listening to Redskins Radio, and they said that we picked up Anthony Mix. SouperMeister 11-20-2007, 01:53 PM Well maybe that addresses our need for a big receiver on red zone passing packages. Let's hope so. As a bonus, he played for Auburn with Jason Campbell, so perhaps there's some chemistry there. Here is Mix's NFL scouting report on SI.com prior to the 2006 draft: SI.com - 2006 NFL Draft - Anthony Mix (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/2006/draft/players/598.html) And here is an article when the Giants waived Mix last month: WR Mix waived; former Bronco Hixon signed - NJ.com: Ledger on the Giants (http://blog.nj.com/ledgergiants/2007/10/wr_mix_waived.html) BleedBurgundy 11-20-2007, 01:58 PM I wonder if JC put a bug in the coach's ear about him? That would be pretty cool, not to mention a sign of a lot of faith in our young qb. GridIron26 11-20-2007, 02:02 PM I wonder if JC put a bug in the coach's ear about him? That would be pretty cool, not to mention a sign of a lot of faith in our young qb. I was wondering same thing.. Also I wonder why Giants released him in first place? BleedBurgundy 11-20-2007, 02:15 PM I'm sure it wasn't because he was amazingly talented. lol. Hopefully he turns out to be a great find. Actually, after clicking on that link above, supposedly he was developing nicely. He was just in a situation where he was stuck behind burress and the team had other needs. This could be a really good signing. skinsfan69 11-20-2007, 02:18 PM I wonder if JC put a bug in the coach's ear about him? We need a big wr but he also has to have skills. Hogroll 11-20-2007, 02:34 PM Hahah, oh wow. A message from a Giant's fan on the NJ.com blog site: "Posted by 1LVNYGfan on 10/03/07 at 5:18PM This move is very strange to me. He'll sign with the Redskins, hang out with his old QB Jason Campbell and become an NFL star. The Giants will be stuck with Moss who cant stay healthy. Talk about someone who has not contributed on the field. Just not a good move by the Giants front office. Last I checked Plax is 30 years old. How much does he have left?" BleedBurgundy 11-20-2007, 02:34 PM I'm sure they asked about the guy. But he's getting released for a reason. We need a big wr but he also has to have skills. According to the link above, he was showing signs of progression, but having a backup that could only play one wr position was not a luxury the Giants could afford. We''ll see... Stacks42 11-20-2007, 02:51 PM Redskins Insider (http://blog.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/) skinsWill 11-20-2007, 04:13 PM FINALLY!!! we needed another red-zone threat to take some pressure off of Cooley. I remember seeing this Mix kid in pre-season looks like he could be a real playmaker!! |
