Oh yeah and Santana is back baby! soyverde 11-19-2007, 03:10 PM Great post Sandtrap. Yeah, the officiating was H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E. McIntosh picked that ball. Period. There were at least three times where our players went out of bounds and the clock did not stop. That said, I will admit that the unneccessary roughness call on Demarcus Ware was BS. My voice is hoarse today because of that call on D-Ware. It was my understanding that some of the non clock stoppage had to do with counting forward progress, but that likely doesn't explain every incidence you are referring to (I've noticed quite a few clock oddities this year). I won't argue about the McIntosh call (pretty certain it hit the turf, but it is a moot point now)...suffice it to say Romo got away with several near-interceptions. I just wanted to chime in and say that while I figured this would be a close one, I never expected to be on the edge of my seat, shouting all afternoon. That was one incredible game, and I honestly still would have been proud had we lost, just based on the caliber of play on both sides of the ball. Definitely no smack-talking going on today on my part...looking forward to 12/30 that much more now. GhettoDogAllStars 11-19-2007, 03:53 PM I think the call on Ware was because he hit JC, after the throw, when he could have prevented it. I'm not sure if he could have prevented it, but I think that was the reasoning for the call. You can't unnecessarily hit the QB -- no matter how you try and spin it. If the ball is out, and you can prevent touching the QB, but you don't -- that's roughing the passer. firstdown 11-19-2007, 04:32 PM This is what seperates the Cowboys-Redskins rivalry from teams like the Iggles, or even the Patriots. Mutual respect. I am angry at this loss, but mostly because I know we could have won this, and feel like the team owed JC a win for the game he played. But, we had ourselves in position and that's the way it went, so I can't be too outraged. The team got us in position to win it was JC who threw the ill pass. sandtrapjack 11-19-2007, 05:09 PM The team got us in position to win it was JC who threw the ill pass. I don't know if it was truly an "ill pass". If you watch the replay, Randle El had position on Newman and was between Newman and JC. Newman just made a decent break on the ball and moved in front. Newman just made a decent break on the ball and moved in front. I think ARE though he was held and asked for a flag and at that very moment JC threw it. I don't think ARE was expecting it at all. Go back and watch it if you can (DVRed it maybe) and you will see Newman's right hand on ARE's right shoulder and you will see ARE asking for the flag. That being said, I think ARE just slowed down when JC didn't expect him to. It wasn't JC's fault but more of ARE just giving up. So no "ill pass" IMO. skinsfan_nn 11-19-2007, 05:27 PM Yea, good thread sandy. Hopefully we will finish the job in DC and there will be something on the line for the December game in OUR house. If ST is back it will be a whole different ball game in the middle for B.O., he won't have 4 tds, he'll be very lucky to have four catchs. Anyway, great game.....damn shame we had to give another one away! sandtrapjack 11-19-2007, 10:29 PM Yea, good thread sandy. Anyway, great game.....damn shame we had to give another one away! Thats cool, double down on TO on 12/30 all you want. He made not get his catches, but due to all the attention on Owens, Witten will burn you as easy. Even more, Terry Glenn will be back by then, and if TO or Witten dont get you, Glenn will. Like I said earlier, Pick your Poison. DGreene28 11-19-2007, 10:51 PM It was a great game. I thought the skins were going to take the lead and give the ball back to the cowboys with over a minute left in the game. But alas, I was wrong. Nice to see some posts from classy cowboys fans... I really think Sean Taylor would have made a huge difference in this game. Sheriff Gonna Getcha 11-19-2007, 11:02 PM Thats cool, double down on TO on 12/30 all you want. Like I said earlier, Pick your Poison. The Boyz have a lot of nice weapons, but I still am convinced your deep game is going to struggle against our D when Taylor is in the lineup. T.O. and Glenn both alligator-arm it when Taylor is lurking and QBs generally don't like to go deep on us. Truth be told, I actually looked forward to deep balls earlier this season since Taylor always seemed to be lighting guys up, picking off passes, or batting down the deep balls. |
