skinsfan_nn 11-13-2007, 06:42 PM Some people need to get out more, seriously.
No doubt! And woulda, shouda, coulda, been 8-1 aweful easy being a Monday morning QB.
Who would have ever forseen this amount of injuries we are dealing with again this year? Not an excuse.....JUST A FACT!
Yes, losing SUCKS,I agree. But we are sitting at 5-4 with a winning record and control our own destiny.
When Monday comes around the WINS carrry over for a while. The losses as I've aged are out of the memory bank, and I'm thinking about next week. Can't live in the past when it's bad stuff......LIFE IS WAY TO SHORT!
GMScud 11-13-2007, 06:43 PM Definitely agree. (In spite of your deep hatred for my hard earned labor you're ok ;) ). Some people really need lives outside of the Redskins too it seems. Some of the reactions just seem to reflect really pathetic people.
Yes and no. Really pathetic people? I wouldn't go that far. This guy is obviously a very intelligent grad student, and is only 25 years old. We know nothing about him other than he's a die hard Skins fan who's over-zealous and over-analytical. As far as his feelings about the skins, I agree with him. But I can put things in perspective. I love my team, and when they lose I'm definitely bummed out for a few hours on Sunday. But it doesn't carry over to my love life, my job, or my relationships with other people.
Another thing to consider is this guy wrote this thing on either Sunday or Monday, with the sting of the loss fresh in his head. I think calling him really pathetic is a bit of a stretch. Who on this site hasn't felt absolutely awful, whether it be for days or just hours, about the Redskins struggles over the years??

The difference is that we don't write about it. It's better to stuff all these emotions down and then take them out on your loved ones at an inappropriate moment.

You're right. Perhaps a little harsh. And trust me I know what it's like to feel the sting of a loss on a Monday. Nothing like having my job (of all jobs) after a loss.

LOL! Good stuff.

Oh man, I can only imagine. I for one avoid all the major sports media outlets for a few days after the Skins lose. I bet being in Bristol can make you nauseous at times. Although after a nice win you probably go into work with bells on.
Sheriff Gonna Getcha 11-13-2007, 07:05 PM I read JLC's blog, but it's also obvious that the guy really detests Danny Snyder (rightly or wrongly), he had a little incident with Gibbs at a press conference, and he seems to get a little emotional about the team. He grew up a Ravens fan and doesn't particularly care for the organization. I'm not saying we should disregard what he has to say, because oftentimes it is fairly informative and interesting. I'm just saying that you should know where he is coming from (just as you know should know that I've got a pro-Redskins bias).
skinsguy 11-13-2007, 10:14 PM I will admit that I am probably optimistic to the point to where it becomes sickening. Maybe it orginates from witnessing the glory years of this team. When I look at the Washington Redskins, I look at an elite franchise. I see them as the team they were in the 1980's. I realize they have not been that team since the 80's, but that is still how I view this team. Now, I know some of you will say, "but Skinsguy, it's not the 80's anymore, get real! It's 2007, and the Redskins have not returned to glory." However, I look at it like this. A true champion knows how it feels to win, and knows how it feels to lose.
I see my Redskins as the champion franchise they are, going through the pains of knowing how it feels to lose and to be at the bottom. We have already felt victory. I don't like the fact that we have went through so many losing seasons or seasons at 8-8, but I can't help to think that when this team finally gets it right (and believe me, they will,) you won't see a team that takes winning for granted. You'll see a team that will be so afraid to return to the Redskins of the 90's, that they'll keep that fire with in them to keep winning. I guess maybe that's a bit of kool-aid for ya, but in all seriousness, I know this franchise is still a proud franchise. I know Daniel Synder wants to win, and I think he's doing everything he can to get this team back to the Redskins of the 80's. We will get there folks, whether it will be with Joe Gibbs, Gregg Williams, or some other head coach. We will discover how to be great again, and I think once we get there, we'll all be as obnovious as the New England fans...LOL!
