If Gibbs Goes, Who coaches next year?Darrell_Green_28 11-11-2007, 07:03 PM i still think Gibbs will be here atleast his last yr of his contract. Twilbert07 11-11-2007, 07:51 PM If Joe steps down, and if we have a losing record, I think he will, I say let's clean house and bring in some new, young blood. If Joe can salvage this season, I'd be happy to see him and the rest of the codgers back for one more year. pdid5000 11-11-2007, 07:52 PM someone young who has something to prove, like a tomlin or mccarthey in GB. those guys are solid, even kiffin in is getting the raiders on the right path. Pocket$ $traight 11-11-2007, 08:35 PM I may be out of left field on this but my vote is for Russ Grimm. He knows how important running off-tackle is. The only problem is that he isn't the "big splash" that Snyder is looking for. Please step down Joe. It is the right thing to do. SouperMeister 11-11-2007, 10:12 PM This team finally has continuity in coaching and personnel, the last thing we need is an overhaul. If Gibbs leaves after this year, that could cause a lot of movement on this coaching staff. I'd prefer to see Gibbs play out his contract - I like the nucleus that he has assembled, and getting Thomas and Jansen back will be like adding two 1st round talents on the O-line. This team might be just one good draft away from competing for the Super Bowl. Let's go with stability for just one more year and see what happens. JWsleep 11-11-2007, 10:38 PM How many reactionary, poorly thought out threads do we need on the same topic? As many as possible!!!!! My anger is moving from the skins and their heartrending failures to people I've never met on the internet! I am feeling better now, and MUCH more self-righteous! ;) Gonna be a regular feature around the redskin nation, I'm afraid. You've also given a concise description of the Extremeskins message board--if you think it's bad here, check it out there! I am in full agreement with your comment, BTW. Not sure about the SB, just yet, but I agree that stability is a good idea. Let him play it out--there's no quick fix here. GusFrerotte 11-11-2007, 10:46 PM I don't see how anyone who's been paying attention to the NFL for the last 20 years could get excited by the prospect of Bill Cowher. How many playoff runs has this guy have or SB rings? Does Williams have any with the Bills? Guy has a tough as nails image also as a disciplinarian. Do you think of Gibbs as a disciplinarian? Folks will be talking if Cowher comes in for sure, or do you think Spurrier is goingt o give it another go or Tuna? You tell me? Snyder is a savvy businessman, and is all about the $$$$$$$$$. He will generate excitement to generate more revenue or at least keep revenue at the current level. What if '08 is a shitty season and then Cowher goes somewhere else in the meantime. You really want to get stuck with GW? Pete Carroll maybe? Gibbs is gone after '08 anyway and the movement you speak of is going to happen regardless. See how Coach handles the rest of the season. If it is a total collapse he needs to step down.
