I don't know who will be available, but I bet Cowher would at least get a couple calls from Snyder if Gibbs does leave.

If Williams doesn't get the job, he's leaving and probably taking Blache and Grey with him. If he doesn't get the job when Gibbs leaves which I don't believe will happen until 2009, we have to start over on defense. Not to say that should decide the thing, but it has to be part of the equation.

Al Saunders should take over and GW should stay on to coach the offense...
Even Russ Grimm would be a nice compliment for this team

I think Cowher is going to be the man. Remember the buzz in the preseason that he was interested in the Skins as a possible destination. Do you really think Danny boy is going to let GW or Saunders be the HC? THese guys suck!!!!!!! Danny boy will go for the sexy pick, always has, always will. Why? It sells tickets and merhandise guys!!!!!!!!!! I mean who is going to get all excited if GW is the new HC? Remember when Spurrier and then Gibbs were hired? Big commotion, BIG excitement. Nobody is going to get excited over some overpaid assistant coaches coming in, ones that have sucked as assistants for us. Cowher will get the money flowing, the excitement back, even if for just a little while like it did for Gibbs coming back.

I personally don't see Gregg Williams or Saunders getting the job no matter how Gibbs leaves this team or when he leaves as head coach. But at any rate, I say it's all a moot point until the season is over.

I don't see how anyone who's been paying attention to the NFL for the last 20 years could get excited by the prospect of Bill Cowher.

If that happens Greg Williams will be our next head coach, Blache gets the nod at DC, and OC is up for grabs.

New head coach? There's a guy I know, right here in Montana! He's like the winningest coach in NAIA history. Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Of all the stupid, shallow ideas, this one takes the cake. This team was nearly destroyed by Dan Snyder, and the only reason we have hope for the future is Joe Gibbs' leadership. It takes time to get the mess Coach Gibbs was handed into the team everyone wants. The building blocks are in place, but we need to get to a point where Jason Campbell has some more experience and we can get free of the injury bug.

Snyder changed coaches all the time and the people who want Coach Gibbs to be fired are just as faulty as Snyder was before he brought Joe back.

If Coach Gibbs is not here as the CEO/Coach, we are in trouble. I give Snyder credit for bringing Coach Gibbs back - Snyder knew that he would be run out of town before long if he didn't do something dramatic and let go of the reins.

I hope that Coach Gibbs will stay beyond his current contract, get the team into top shape, and then stay on as General Manager.

I think that as soon as next year we could contend for the Super Bowl title, if we have a reasonable injury picture, and Campbell continues to develop.

PATIENCE is what is needed. Any decisions based on short sighted impatience are only going to lead to misery for Redskins fans.

This loss is frustrating enough to start with, but with the anti-Gibbs hate, we are just making things even worse. Honestly, if Gibbs steps down, who will his replacement be? I can't think of anyone on the spot that makes any sense, and if Gibbs goes, we need someone who can do a good job stepping in. We know how to have bad coaches, 7 years of Norv Turner, Spurrier, etc.

It almost hurts to say, but the Gibbs II era has been a lot like the Turner era, in that the Skins constantly embarass themselves by losing games they shouldn't. They show up on Sunday as the less prepared team, and I'm not talking X's and O's here, I'm talking mental preparation. That being said, what would be the point in replacing Gibbs? What coach is going to do a better job? Since he's been back, the Skins have been competitive. It's not his fault we have one of the worst defensive lines in the game, nor is it his fault 63.8 percent of the team is hampered by hamstring injuries right now. The problems run deeper than the head coach, and looking for the quick fix is definitely not the solution.
