I agree Gibbs isn't going anywhere. For now. But if this kind of crap keeps up, I don't see him staying after this year. If we continue to flounder and finish around 8-8 and miss the playoffs, you have to wonder. I'm getting tired of the same old excuses and same old coach speak. Back in year 2 of Gibbs V2.0, I was tolerant. We're going into week 11 of year 3. I want results. And we're not getting them. 3+ years is an eternity in the NFL. The Parcells experiment in Dallas only lasted 4 years, and he made the playoffs a few times.
Parcells made it twice in four years. And never won a playoff game while in Dallas. Gibbs has made it once in 3 years, won a playoff game. And this year, contrary to popular belief, isn't over yet.

I understand Parcells never made it in 4 years. Kinda why I was bringing it up. And notice I said "if we continue to play like this," and "if we flounder and go 8-8." Never used the word "when." If we miss the playoffs this year I could see Gibbs stepping down. I have plenty of hope for this year, and I think we're capable of ripping off a few big wins down the stretch. I also see very little reason to be optimistic, and there are plenty of things to criticize.
Skinner 11-11-2007, 11:56 PM I say gibbs and williams cuz we arent playing well on both sides of the ball, we are too inconsistent, too much talent to be playing like this.

Yeah I didn't mean to say you specifically have given up on this season. But plenty of people definitely have.

Nope. That was just a figment of your imagination.
GMScud 11-12-2007, 12:48 AM Wise points out clear coaching issues, i.e. clock mismanagement. Not having any timeouts left with 8mins left in the game??

We should have had today's game, but there is a lot of football left to be played.

Hey, on any given Sunday, sure. But the past is a good predictor of the future.

The past usually is a good indicator of how we will perform in the future, but I'm not sure if the past indicates that we will be good or that we will stink it up. We've been wildly inconsistent. One minute our offense looks totally inept and the next second it looks dominant. The same can be said of the defense. This team has loads of potential, but capitalizes on such potential on an inconsistent basis. I think that it is reasonable to say that this team could go 1-7 or 7-1 down the stretch.

The next two weeks are going to be battles. Dallas is really cocky right now. We gotta get to Romo. I just saw next week's lines. Dallas is favored by 11. 11!!! No respect.
