Here is my question having nothing to do with the game... is this Tony McGee's user name exclusively for posts? I have been on this site for awhile and can't tell for sure. Gmanc711 11-11-2007, 03:28 PM Ha, no. I'm a user who conducts the interviews with Tony Every week, so this is my s/n not Tony's specifically, but he gives me the information to post when I post his reactions. Redskin Rich 11-11-2007, 03:40 PM Ha, no. I'm a user who conducts the interviews with Tony Every week, so this is my s/n not Tony's specifically, but he gives me the information to post when I post his reactions. That's what I thought based on some of your posts... but it was worth the question. SmootSmack 11-12-2007, 01:28 AM Tony, a lot of people here want to fire Gibbs asap, as is usually the case after a loss. If it was your call to make would you tell Joe Gibbs he has to step down as head coach (regardless of how the rest of the season played out)? GTripp0012 11-12-2007, 01:58 AM Tony, given all the inexperience on this team going into the season, and the fast start we enjoyed, is there any way this year can be considered a success even if we miss the playoffs? GMScud 11-12-2007, 02:00 AM Tony, it's obvious what has plagued us this year, as well as every year since Gibbs has returned. It's the same thing over and over. Questionable play calling and clock management, and bad fundamental football (penalties, drops, fumbles, etc). Then throw in the 2nd half collapses that are becoming an awful trademark. At what point does this consistent inconsistency fall straight at the feet of the coaches, and what if anything, is the cure? SmootSmack 11-12-2007, 02:51 AM Tony, understand that a lot of the lack of discipline falls onto the coaching staff. But at what point do the players need to start looking in the mirror and realize they are adults paid (paid well) to do the basics? As sort of a follow up: In your playing days, how much time did the coaching staff spend on fundamentals (blocking, tackles, etc.) with the players, or is it assumed that at the NFL level the players should be able to handle that on their own? CHIEF CHUCKING MY SPEAR 11-12-2007, 02:57 AM when we we get a GM or a real personel man. instead of Vinny or little danny>? because gibbs in over his head. or when will we actually have all of our draft picks in a damn draft> SmootSmack 11-12-2007, 05:45 PM Tony, Bill Belichick shows little emotion on the sidelines and in press conferences yet the Patriots are the best team in the league, Tony Dungy shows little emotion on the sidelines and in press conferences yet the Colts are the defending SB Champions. I don't know how they act behind closed doors, but why is it that Redskins fans feel that Gibbs not throwing chairs at press conferences and grabbing players by the facemask on the sidelines during games is a sign that he's old, has no fire in him, and the game has passed him by...when clearly you can win without acting like a raging lunatic? |
