JC isn't a natural runner like Vince Young or any of the other mobile QBs in the league. He's not going to out run anyone and he certainly isn't as nimble as VY.

Letting JC run it is the quickest avenue to disaster.Campbell has certainly demonstrated an ability to outrun defensive linemen the few times that he has taken off. I hold my breath whenever he does so - but I like the fact that he can make a play with his legs when the opportunity presents itself. He had a nice 25 yard run against Philly that might have gone for a 45 yard TD had he not tripped trying to hurdle ARE.

What happened to the moving pocket plays that Gibbs 1 did?? We could run that stuff here and there. I remember Rypien running those plays very well and he didn't have half the mobolity JC does. Just gives the defense something else to prepare for.
THe old dart right that Ryp ran a lot required the H back to cut the DE on the offenses right. It's illegal now if the lineman is engaged which he usually is. It seemed like they scored at least once a game with that play in '91. They could still roll out more with Cooley dragging underneath, ARE crossing and Thrash or McCardell clearing out (the old 49er play that Dwight Clark had The Catch on and the Packers and Eagles still run all the time). While JC isn't Vince Young he is at least as mobile as Montana or Brett.

No he doesn't. He had a 29 yard run and Portis beat that with a 32 yard run.

32 yards isnt very impressive, with a running style team, after 8 games.
