freddyg12 11-09-2007, 01:53 PM I must say I'm disappointed a little w/JC's development, although I don't put all the blame on him. I just thought we would have a little more of an air game by now.
Plus, I think it was GTripp that said the last 4 weeks he's become less accurate. That sounded right to me, he's been missing a lot of throws lately.
I still love the kid as our qb of the future though, and I think he's gonna be a solid pro.
SC Skins Fan 11-09-2007, 02:01 PM After 18 starts, don't annoint Romo just yet. He's pretty good, but I'm always wary of a guy who is really outperforming his completion percentage.
Either his completion percentage will improve, or his TDs will decline while his INTs increase.
I'm still playing the wait and see game with Romo.
I'm all for Romo fall from grace, but isn't he completing 65% of his passes? That seems pretty good. Romo's percentage is 64.4% (admittedly 15th in the league, but everyone besides Tom Brady is pretty close) and Peyton Manning is at 64.9%. If you are around 65% isn't that where you want to be? I think you are correct in assuming his TDs and INTs will come closer together at some point, but I just don't see the completion percentage argument. Maybe I'm missing something.
mredskins 11-09-2007, 02:09 PM I just don't agree with his comparison to Romo. He's been in the league for what, 5 years now? He had 3 full seasons on the bench before he played. So of course he's heads and tails above the younger guys who didn't have the benefit of sitting and learning for 3 seasons.
Matty using this methodology about sitting on the bench for three years, then Todd collins should be an all-pro.
The one unmeasurable is talent, you either have it or you don't.
firstdown 11-09-2007, 02:44 PM Well this also shows that Ramsey could have been a better QB given the coaches support and a little more time to develop. We just crushed the mans confidence and may have just ruined his career as a QB.

And the gates are now open...

I'm not denying that Romo is talented, I just think he really benefited from being brought along slowly.
I think far too often these days young QBs are rushed into the starting lineup before they are truly ready.

He was hanging at 59% and then it closed up to 64% really quick. I'm waiting to see if it drops sharply over the next few games, but if it doesn't, then I'll be willing to admit he's the real thing.

I guess people figured I was trying to stir things up.

Our air game stinks. It's still a struggle to get 200 yards passing. The offense looks the exact same as last year and that is why we are not scoring more points. It's too tough to have 12-15 play drives in the NFL. We have no explosion plays at all. We depend on throwing a short pass and hope that someone breaks 10 tackles. Not gonna happen.
The few passes we have tried deep are either dropped or over thrown. JC and the WR's are just not clicking.
Campbell17 11-10-2007, 02:04 PM I think that JC is hard to make an assesment over, after 5 games, he looked like a pro-bowl quarterback, since then, he has looked like Brunell. He needs a big game sunday to have a chance to rebound.
