Beemnseven 11-08-2007, 12:25 PM From a playoff perspective, I think it would actually be better for the Cowchips to win.
Dallas is taking this division, there's no other way around it. If the Giants win, it only puts them further ahead in the wild card race, which is Washington's only hope.

I'd have to agree. I don't think creating a log jam in the NFC East will work out in Washington's favor, especially considering that they've already dropped a game to the Giants. At best, I see Washington splitting the series with the Cowboys, so I think it'd work out better if the Giants had their typical late season collapse.
And honestly, my hate for the Giants is greater than my hate for the Cowboys. Not much greater, but slightly.

I see your point, you're being realistic. but in hoping for the best, i.e. that we win the div., we need the g-men to knock them off.

It works out best if the g-men beat the pokes AND have their late season collapse!
Daseal 11-08-2007, 12:56 PM yeah, I gotta say we're rooting for Dallas to take this division. Plus, if it comes down to a tiebreaker, common opponents isnt far dwon in the picking order. Ideally right now we just want the Cowboys to beat all NFC competition (besides us) and hope we can close the gap.

That scenario only help if the Cowboys also fall apart. I doubt very seriously that both the Cowboys and Giants start playing like crap, and Washington miraculously starts clicking on all cylinders. Washington's best hope for the playoffs is finishing with a better record than the Giants.

Yeah RIGHT........
Cowboys to win in NY!

I'm with you on this one. As painful as it is, the Cowboys winning really helps us the most.
Tightening up the division isn't really that helpful - barring some massive collapse, Dallas is taking the division hands down. Putting the Giants down another NFC East matchup will only help us in the wildcard race.

I disagree that this is a runaway for Dallas. They still have the Giants, Lions, Panthers, and Skins on the road; Redskins, Jets, Packers, and Eagles at home. Not a runaway schedule if you ask me. Maybe the only easy game in there is the Jets, but they'll get better with their new QB too.
I think the goal is to always win the division, and to say that crown belongs to the Cowboys after 8 games is just plain ridiculuous. I will root for the Giants, and for the Skins to take care of business down the road and the division can still be won.
By the way, we still have to beat the Eagles this week.
dmek25 11-08-2007, 01:58 PM anyone that is ready to give Dallas the division after 8 games is probably the same person that is worried who the skins are going to draft next year. we need the giants to win. that will really make the NFC interesting the rest pf the season
