CHIEF CHUCKING MY SPEAR 11-05-2007, 08:31 PM dont hold your breath on the skins opening up the offense. We have these so called playmakers but never use them. Cooley is never utilized. He could be like witten if we use him. We threw on bomb to Moss once we should do that at least once a quarter. And stop using Thrash as our deep threat.
paulskinsfan 11-05-2007, 08:41 PM Agree with every point except the NFC East being mediocre. The Cowboys and the Giants look quite legit to me. Both can get after the QB on defense, and have multiple offensive weapons that they aren't afraid to deploy in the passing game. I long for the Skins to utilize Moss, Cooley, and Randle El to put pressure opposing D's the way Dallas and NY do in the passing game.
Yeah, I shouldve said "conference" instead of division. The NFC is weak in general, with one really good team and a ton of mediocre ones, that being said I guess the East is somewhat competitive.
SmootSmack 11-05-2007, 08:41 PM -The Bucs have scored only 12 more points than us, and played one more game
-The Bucs lost to the Lions
-The Bucs are down to their 3rd RB (I think)
-The Ravens barely beat the 2-6 Bengals and 2-6 49ers
-The Ravens have scored 28 points less than we have, and played one less game
-The Ravens haven't exactly set the world on fire at the QB position
-The Browns barely beat the 2-6 Raiders
-The Browns have allowed 73 more points than us, and played the same number of games
So alls I'm saying is a lot of teams have "issues" that we seem to lump only on the Redskins.
Campbell17 11-05-2007, 08:45 PM You have to say Baltimore, because they aren't in a division like ours and they dont have that many hard games this season.
SmootSmack 11-05-2007, 08:56 PM Ditto, ditto, and ditto. I love how "some people" bitch about people bitching about the Skins. Why do hardcore Skins fans bitch about their team being 5-3? Because the Skins are NOT a good team. This team barely beat the freakin Dolphins and the Jets. The offense is sad, and the defense is only slightly above average. Good forbid we call a spade a spade. We are all fans of a very very mediocre team, in an extremely mediocre division. But for heavens sake, dont bitch, just ask for a refill of the Kool Aid cause Gibbs and Company will turn it around!
By the way, why does it say "Paulskinsfan is in danger of being benched" under my avatar? While I'll disagree with some of you, I usually have the stats or at least a logical argument to back it up, so what's up with that?
People probably gave you negative reputation points because they were tired of posts like these. Why is it that every time someone wants to enjoy a win and speak positively, it's drinking the Kool Aid? Why is that every time someone complains (even after wins) they refer to themselves and their ilk as "true hardcore fans" Just because I don't want to jump off a bridge and then put a shotgun to my head after the first drop of the game, doesn't mean I'm not a true fan.

True. But just because people are saying the Skins look like shit despite the win, doesn't mean they aren't fans either. I find it very very interesting that those of us who criticize this team are "on the bench" with reputation points, while most if not all of the Kool Aid gang are "players on the rise." Maybe cause those who have the points to give take care of their own? By the way, if someone is gonna give you negative rep points you should know who those individuals are. The whole rep points thing is pointless.

Pointless when you don't get the points you want ;)
Seriously though, I can't speak for others but personally I've given positive points to some Cowboys fans here as well as some that said we don't have a shot at the playoffs. So this "take care of their own" nonsense is just that. Good posts are rewarded, whether I agree with them or not.
CHIEF CHUCKING MY SPEAR 11-05-2007, 09:07 PM the reason we lump it on the skins is because their the team we care about. We want the skins to win and kick ass and were tired of them struggling against crappy teams. Yes a bad win is better than a lost. But big picture this team not going anywhere until this offense pulls their weight. Where is the improvement on this team after 8 games? D starting to show some wholes, ST gave up a KO return sunday and god this offense is sad. Keeping JC underwraps makes no sense. Let the man play and let him make his mistakes and learn. 3 yard passed when its third and 5 is getting old. 8 yard passes on third and 10 etc. The skins can do better that what we all want, and yes we won which is great but let be real and say this team has to improve or we are going nowhere fast. We have a chance in this crappy NFC to make the playoffs. If we play like we have the last two weeks we wont.

Sure, I hear all that. I think, though, that too often we tend to put so many other teams on a higher level and ignore/refuse to acknowledge that all around the league there are teams struggling on offense, defense, special teams, front office moves, etc.
It doesn't hurt to think positive sometimes, but maybe others don't feel that way
CHIEF CHUCKING MY SPEAR 11-05-2007, 09:15 PM i can give a rat ass about the other teams. I'm just holding my team up to a higher standard of play if they want to succeed. We want to be postive but just not blinded by it, we have to look threw the forest to see the trees.
