Portis ran great but only hit paydirt once. SS did it when needed. He hit the game winner, he get sthe game ball.

the 196 yds by portis is certainly a great effort in anyone's book but the game ball has to go to the kicker...suisham without him i think we maybe discussing a loss.

I gotta go with Swishy guys....he misses any one of 5, like statistically he should have and we lose....plain and simple.

Bottom line, Gibbs has confidence in Swishy.....look at his last coaching decision. That should tell you something.....and you know what....he was right!

I really think this guy is a keeper.
I didn't buy into all this slump junk a couple weeks back...this guy has won a few games for us single-handedly this year.
He deserves some serious Props!

You know who might not get the game ball but who played GREAT nonetheless was Smoot! Sure, he isn't the great tackler that Rogers is, but I think he covers just as well, if not better.

Its gotta go to Suisham...haven't had a kicker with that kind of performance since Mosely.

I was at the game and you could see landry and taylor had the biggest impact on the game. Landry's hits though some were costly set fear in clemons eyes while taylor did the same for the wide receivers and in the second half and overtime thats what paid off. Suishams kicks were money, but without some key drops and errant throw from clemons, he never would have gotten the oppertunity.

Obviously the running game had the biggest effect on the win, and Portis certainly broke some big important runs, but I can't give the game ball to him or his line because the line was horrible in protection and Portis simply ran (well) with the holes his line created.

Portis gets my vote hands down. Nice comeback to hopefully quiet his critics. The guy is a workhorse, he never gives up, and he just has a heart for the game. He throws his body into it with reckless abandon (remember the pre-season game last year when he got hurt? he wasn't gonna let anybody return that interception for a TD regardless of whether or not it was a pre-season game). I would also give a game ball to the left side of the O-line. They were money. 26 times they opened up holes for CP to dash through. Hold the comments about how bad the Jets D-line may have been, fact is our O-line on the left side exploited them and did what was needed.

I think the Jet's WRs were hearing footsteps all day. They had a few bad drops and guys pulling up in their routes.

It was nice to see Portis have one of those FU days to silence the critics.

He said he was ready to carry the team and he delivered. I say saddle him up and let's ride him all the way to the playoffs like in 2005.

I also noticed a lot more inside runs and less of the outside zone stuff that he doesn't like. Nice to see we're finally running plays he wants, but the question is why did it take so long??

Clinton Portis. 36 carries, 196 yards, 1 TD. A stat line we will hopefully get used to over the next several weeks.
