Often imitated, never duplicated, it's the Redskins Warpath prediction threadİ.

Here's my take:
It's funny how the schedule can work out sometimes. One week it's the best team in the league, the next it's one of the worst. No apologies necessary, you can only play the teams on the schedule and this is a big game for the Skins. I don't care that the Jets are only 1-7, they are still dangerous. The Redskins need to refocus after getting bounced out of New England and start to get this offense back on track.

The Jets' defense currently ranks 29th overall in the league (26th against the pass, 27th against the run). No need to get fancy in this one, I would expect Saunders to try to get this running game on track and give the Jets a heavy dose of Portis and Betts. I think we'll see Betts worked into the mix more this week to try to spark the pathetic ground game. Campbell needs to be efficient and the WRs need to step up, make some big plays, and catch the damn ball.

I think the Skins 'D' is going to have a serious chip on their shoulders this week after getting shellacked last week. Clemens is going to have a long day ahead of him and I predict 2 INTs.

Overall I don't think it will be pretty, but this is a chance for the Skins to get some things going and gain some confidence back after last week's disaster.

There is no reason the skins will not win this game. i think it will be a opportunity for a statement game that they are better than what last week showed.

I'll give Washington the benefit of the doubt, and assume that they've got enough pride to be pissed off about last weeks debacle and come out to make an example out of the Jets. I know the defense will be prepared, but I'm still iffy on the offense...

With Clemens making his first start of the season, I think that will work into the Redskins favor. If Washington takes an early lead, the kid will try to make plays with his arm, which will play right into Williams' hands. This game should get ugly in the Redskins favor, but I'll keep it conservative and call it:

Skins - 27
Jets - 10

P.S. If Washington sh*ts the bed this week against the hapless Jets... the season is over.

A team w/high expectations after making the playoffs the year before w/a new coach, only to find that the defense falls to the bottom of the nfl & in midseason they bench the vet qb for an unproven youngster.

Sounds like the 06 Skins. Oh wait, it's the 07 Jets!

Jets 13

Not pretty & not easy, but we get at least & fumble & pick from the youngster qb & the O capitalizes just enough.

I am worried about this game, as the Offense is looking worse by the week. Even Samuels looked well below his usual self last week. Could it be that there are serious internal issues on that unit like we had on defense last year? Hope not.

CRAP! The reason we lost last week is because I didn't predict pain for the Pats.

This week: pain.

my theory that the skins play down to the level of their opponent and thus lose an unhealthy percentage of easy games while stepping up their game when they play elite teams was blown out of the water last week . . . .

I think this game is going to be closer than people think. Redskins 20, Jets 17.

Well I said we would shut out Arizona and we almost lost... but I think we will be fired up from the patriots game, and Jets happen to be in the way.

I really want to believe that Washington will bounce back and make a statement with this game. That is what absolutely needs to happen to get this season back on track and gain some confidence back after last weeks beat down. However, I just don't think it's going to happen, and this is why:

Too many injuries across the board
Too much inconsistency and lack of productivity on the offense
The defense has been used and abused all season
The game is on the road
The Jets are playing good football despite being 1-7 (all losses by 11 or less, four of them by one touchdown or less, and they were only two scores down from New England entering the fourth quarter).

Sorry, there are too many things to overcome against a good football team (despite the 1-7 record). I don't look for Washington to win this game.
