I understand why there is a lot of gloom and doom sentiment around here. I would have to be a blind optimist to think that we don't have some serious problems. The running game is the worst we've seen in years, the passing game has sputtered, we've lost Jansen and Rogers for the season, Thomas might not come back until mid-December, we barely beat Miami and Arizona, and we got demolished by the Patriots.

With all that being said, I strongly believe that this team will make the playoffs and here is why. Yes, the defense got demolished by the Patriots, but what defense wouldn't? The defense is stout and, with the emergence of Rocky McIntosh and the additions of guys like Laron Landry, London Fletcher, and even David Macklin, this defense will return to form next week. The offensive line is really banged up, but I cannot help but think that time itself and Buges' coaching up will help improve things (even if the O-line doesn't become a source of strength). Portis, Moss and Betts, IMO, are not the Hall of Famers we want them to be, but they are too good to continue playing like they have. Does anyone really think Portis, Moss, and Betts can play any worse? Jason Campbell is young and has just 14 starts under his belt and should improve with time. Finally, after this Sunday we should be 5-3 in a weak NFC with a schedule that isn't a cakewalk, but isn't exactly tough.

So, my question to you is, will the Redskins make the playoffs this season?

I am also a yes. Our schedule after the Dallas game should help out quite a bit.

We had the same poll at 5-6 in 2005. I said yes then and I'll say yes again

I'll be the weenie....I really want to see how they respond to last weeks loss before I go on record as saying anything, but if we beat the Jets, than mark me down as a yes. We have too many winnable games left. The only games that I would say we "shouldnt" win are Dallas x2, and @ NYG. So thats 3 more losses, which would put us at 10-6. I would hope we could beat Dallas at home, especially if its meaningful, but based on what we've seen so far, they're a bit better than us. Not saying they're/Giants like Patriots level good, but I think we should win every other game...i stress SHOULD.
