bertoskins2 10-31-2007, 03:07 PM They will make the playoffs only because the rest of the NFC is very weak. The Cowboys, Packers, Panthers and Seahawks are going to win their perspective divisions. The Giants look like the front runner for the first wild card position. That means the Skins are competing against the Lions, Vikings, Tampa Bay and Cardinals for the final wildcard. The Skins have already beaten the Vikings and Cardinals.
giants will not be a wild card. they are better right than dallas right now, and of course they beat us

Yes and Dallas beat NY, and the Giants winning streak is against all the same crappy teams that Dallas faced too. Except Washington.
skinsfan69 10-31-2007, 03:45 PM Dude. Put down the pipe! The Skins will beat the Jets and the Bucs. I don't know about splitting with the Cowboys, that might be two losses. But I think they will rebound and take out the Giants. I'm thinking 11-5 at worst 10-6 which will still be good enough for the second wildcard.
11-5, 10-6 at the worst???? More kool aid drinking/ homerism at it's best.
GTripp0012 10-31-2007, 04:10 PM The Eagles scored 13 points against Green Bay, which allows an average of 17 points. They scored 12 points against us and we're allowing an average of 20 points per game (granted that stat is skewed because of New England). They scored 3 points against the G-men, who allow an average of 20 points per game. They scored 16 points against the New York Jets, who allow an average of 26 points per game. They scored 16 points against Chicago, who allow an average of 23 points per game. They scored 23 points against the Vikings, who are allowing 20 points per game. That's an average of 13 points per game, when opponents have been averaging 21 points per game against those same teams. Scoring 8 fewer points per game than your opponents, is bad. 13 points per game is bad.
Granted, they torched the Lions for 50+ points, but they're not scoring a lot of points. They could rebound and they might very well beat us. But the Eagles offense has been anemic.Yeah, I'm guessing the Lions game is really skewing the numbers. But is it skewing? Should we really discredit that dominance as just a bad opponent?
I don't know the answer, and I'm inclined to be on the safe side and give Philly the benefit of the doubt. If their offense was all that bad, I don't think they would have been able to do that against Detroit.

I guess I should have said the Eagles cannot score lots of points on a consistent basis. They're getting decent yardage, but, as you noted, they're not punching it in. I have a lot of respect for the Eagles and McNabb and, like us, they could be explosive. But right now, they're not.
The Zimmermans 10-31-2007, 04:23 PM a hesitant yes. We will have to beat the other wildcard teams
Dlyne8r 10-31-2007, 04:34 PM You think a guy that used to throw darts at a John Riggins poster when he was younger can even make that leap?
OUCH! Even my avatar hurt after that comment.
paulskinsfan 10-31-2007, 06:56 PM I say no. While Gibbs first run was exceptional with innovative play calling and, more importantly, halftime adjustments, I just have no faith in his abilities this time around. We all got caught up when the man returned, but now its different. He has a HUGE coaching staff, that is highly overpaid. He no longer makes the halftime adjustments, rather we go into turtle mode when we have a lead. His clock management has been dreadful. I will watch every snap of every game, and I'll scream my head off, but I no longer have faith in Joe Gibbs, and believe me it hurts to say that.
DieHardSkinsFan777 10-31-2007, 07:49 PM The glass is half full. We will make the playoffs.
Green1 11-01-2007, 12:49 PM We are going to the playoffs believe it!!!!
