They will make the playoffs only because the rest of the NFC is very weak. The Cowboys, Packers, Panthers and Seahawks are going to win their perspective divisions. The Giants look like the front runner for the first wild card position. That means the Skins are competing against the Lions, Vikings, Tampa Bay and Cardinals for the final wildcard. The Skins have already beaten the Vikings and Cardinals.

Probably not. Here's how I see the rest of the season.

@ Jets

vs. Eagles
W

@ Cowboys
L

@ Buccaneers
L

vs. Bills
W

vs. Bears
W

@ Giants
L

@ Vikings
W

vs. Cowboys

9-7 won't cut it. Here's your playoff teams:

Dallas
Green Bay
New Orleans
Seattle
New York
Tampa Bay

Dude. Put down the pipe! The Skins will beat the Jets and the Bucs. I don't know about splitting with the Cowboys, that might be two losses. But I think they will rebound and take out the Giants. I'm thinking 11-5 at worst 10-6 which will still be good enough for the second wildcard.

Reason number 437 why your opinions posted here are rendered meaningless by blind faith.

If you're always coming down on the optimistic side, how can your opinions possibly be considered valid? They're rife with bias.

There's what you WANT to happen, and then there's what you THINK will happen. There's a difference.

This is why your fandom is rendered invalid, it's rife with unfaithfulness. :cheeky-sm

Come down off your high horse and put your dictionary away, it's called being a true fan. If you don't root for your team to win EVERY week, even if they're 0-15 and playing the defending Super Bowl champs who need a win to make the playoffs...if you're predicting a loss and have no confidence in them, you're not as much of a fan as you think.

Sure the Jets suck and they don't have much of a chance this week, but the people who really love their team are coming to the game or sitting on their couch with their jerseys and are anxious to see a win. I did the same last week, despite the reality of records and stats and will do it every week until I die because I am a Redskins fan no matter how good or bad they are. Sometimes our team will pull out upsets and I and other Skins fans will be jumping up and down, glad we had the faith in our guys to do it, while some pessimists will have to say "glad they won, but I wasn't behind them all the way."

I love stats and numbers, it's actually what I do for a living. I can post plenty of stats and make great points with them, but come Sunday, none of them matter to be because I'm behind my team no matter what numbers, Las Vegas or the media says.

Sorry if you can't say the same.

What brings you to think that Philly isn't at least average? Their record is average. They've scored more points than they've given up. They have a really good offense (not sure what you mean by "can't score (http://www.nfl.com/standings)" as they average 20 pts per game. That's league average, and they are way more efficient that that to make up for a bend but dont break D) and a "meh" defense. That's better than average, is it not?

The Eagles scored 13 points against Green Bay, which allows an average of 17 points. They scored 12 points against us and we're allowing an average of 20 points per game (granted that stat is skewed because of New England). They scored 3 points against the G-men, who allow an average of 20 points per game. They scored 16 points against the New York Jets, who allow an average of 26 points per game. They scored 16 points against Chicago, who allow an average of 23 points per game. They scored 23 points against the Vikings, who are allowing 20 points per game. That's an average of 13 points per game, when opponents have been averaging 21 points per game against those same teams. Scoring 8 fewer points per game than your opponents, is bad. 13 points per game is bad.

Granted, they torched the Lions for 50+ points, but they're not scoring a lot of points. They could rebound and they might very well beat us. But the Eagles offense has been anemic.

I'm saying yes because I'm a fan.

However (here comes the ass-covering caveat), if Clinton Portis and the offensive line on't pull their collective heads out of their collective backsides and start running the damn ball with some ferocity, we will be lucky to win 3 more games. I say they will do it starting Sunday.

I'll freely admit that I wear burgundy and gold colored glasses. I don't think that makes my views invalid, I just think you might want to take my views with a grain of salt. Similarly, I take the debbie downers' views with a grain of salt.

I don't agree that you have to wear burgundy and gold colored glasses in order to be a fan. But, for me at least, it is hard not to see the good in our team and think, perhaps incorrectly, that we will go to the playoffs.

I'm guessing Schneed was also picking the Bills to win SB XXVI (hey...numbers from Vegas don't lie!) and turned the game off after Denver went up 10-0 in SB XXII. :D

Let's not even bring up our 6-0 run at the end of 2005. It's years like 2005 that prove my point of it paying off to stay behind your team when standings and everyone in the world has said they're dead. The celebration at the end is so much sweeter when you're not a fairweather fan. :)

We don't play the Vikes until Week 16. :)
