redsk1 10-31-2007, 11:49 AM I voted no as of right now. 10-6 and we are probably in. I'm not sure we can win 6 more games. Besides believing that the skins will win every week, i've got to look at our team from an unbiased point of view. Are we better than the boys and gmen in our own division? No, not right now. Are we that much better than the eagles? No.
We can't score points. We can't win w/out scoring points. I can go on about our D and how much they are improved, which is true, but our offense leaves them on the field too long.
We do have a good chance but it's hard for me to say yes right now. We need to get the O fixed immediately.

That makes 59 real fans...40 who need to find a new team and 8 Patriots fans. :D
Uhh, make that 58, I voted yes, but remember where my roots lie.
I like you guys, but not that much!

You're like Darth Vader, on the outside you're pure evil, but there is still good in you. I know that, one day, you will come to the Burgundy and Gold side of the force. :woot:

You think a guy that used to throw darts at a John Riggins poster when he was younger can even make that leap?
skinsfan69 10-31-2007, 12:19 PM They can't score on offense, their defense isn't good, they've got a losing record, and I just don't think they are a good team anymore. I do not necessarily think they are a bad team (I overstated things), but they are not a good team.
But, if as you say, Philly is not a bad team that has had tough losses, why do you think that we won't make the playoffs? After all, we have a winning record, we beat the Eagles (a supposedly average team) by more than a touchdown, we had two tough losses, and we got blown out or beaten badly in just one game against the best team in the league.
Let's just throw out who we have to play and focus on our team. Just by watching the last three games I can see in the teams play that we are just not good enough.
We have a good, but not great defense and a bad offense and a somewhat shaky and unproven kicker. That does not = a playoff team to me. And even if we somehow sneak in it's going to be one and done.
skinsfan_nn 10-31-2007, 12:21 PM We will make the playoffs......even if it's with a wildcard.
GTripp0012 10-31-2007, 12:39 PM So how can you be so sure we are going to even make it to 9-7?? We have to play Dallas twice. That could very well be two L's.Well, we are a better than average football team, so we deserve to make it to 9 wins. With a little luck, we can get 11.
Deserving only gets you so fair, but I can't predict as to have an unfair world.

Their record is average. They've scored more points than they've given up. They have a really good offense (not sure what you mean by "can't score (http://www.nfl.com/standings)" as they average 20 pts per game. That's league average, and they are way more efficient that that to make up for a bend but dont break D) and a "meh" defense. That's better than average, is it not?
They have been pretty bad in the red zone, but historically McNabb has been a good Red Zone passer, so I would expect that trend to stop.
I think we are a better team than Philly, but their skill and ours seem to be right in the same area.

Reason number 437 why your opinions posted here are rendered meaningless by blind faith.
If you're always coming down on the optimistic side, how can your opinions possibly be considered valid? They're rife with bias.
There's what you WANT to happen, and then there's what you THINK will happen. There's a difference.
