WEEK 8 PICKS

With Romo's injury I couldn't think of a better week to have a bye, especially with the road up ahead with 3 divisional games in a row and 2 straight on the road. Talk about a tough stretch.
On with the picks...
Detroit at Chicago -5 Ovr/Und 44
Detroit's offense is good, but their defense still isn't there. This is their second meeting. In the first meeting, Detroit humiliated Griese, but he has stepped up his game in the past few weeks going 2-1. I just don't see Detroit taking two games from Chicago, especially at home.
Straight: Chicago
Spread: Chicago
Ovr/Und: Over
Pittsburgh at Cincinnati 3.5 Ovr/Und 48
After a tough loss against Denver last week, expect Pittsburgh to bounce back against a very questionable Cincinnati defense. If you don't want risk, take the over. It's a given.
Straight: Pittsburgh
]Spread: Pittsburgh
Ovr/Und: Over
Cleveland at St. Louis 3 Ovr/Und 44
A lot of experts are pointing at this game as the one that will put a 1 in St. Louis' W column. I just don't see it, especially because the Browns have played hard each week and they always seem that they can win and score. Maybe it's because some of the experts are too much in love with Steven Jackson and he's coming back. Take the over.
Straight: Cleveland
Spread: Cleveland
Ovr/Und: Over
Miami at New York Giants -10 Ovr/Und 48
No Green, No Brown, No Thomas, No Chambers, No WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY... New York is playing very aggressively and good. Miami doesn't stand a chance. The best thing going for Miami is jet lag.
Straight: New York Giants
Spread: New York Giants
Ovr/Und: Under
Oakland at Tennessee -7.5 Ovr/Und 40.5
Tennessee isn't winning beautifully, but hey they find a way to win and at the end of the day that's what matters. Oakland just can't find a rhythm.
Straight: Tennessee
Spread: Tennessee
Ovr/Und: Under
Philadelphia at Minnesota 1 Ovr/Und 37.5
I'm having trouble with this one. For one thing, I can see McChoke air it out all day against Minnesota secondary, but the Eagles' best weapon will have trouble against Minnesota's front 7. Also, we're talking about one of the best defenses in causing turnovers... I can see A. Peterson having a great day... I take the home team.
Straight: Minnesota
Spread: Minnesota
Ovr/Und: Under
Indianapolis at Carolina +7 Ovr/Und 44
Carr or Vinny...it don't matter. They both don't stand a chance against the colts. If Manning could pull that off last week against a better defense in Jacksonville, he should have no trouble against the Panthers.
Straight: Indianapolis
Spread: Indianapolis
Ovr/Und: Under
Jacksonville at Tampa Bay -4 Ovr/Und 32.5
I told you Tampa was my surprise team for 07 and right now it looks like the real deal even if they lost their starting and backup RB. Garcia is playing great. Jacksonville doesn't have a QB. I don't care how good that defense is...no QB, no Win.
Straight: Tampa Bay
Spread: Tampa Bay
Ovr/Und: Over
Houston at San Diego -9.5 Ovr/Und 45
With all the things happening around San Diego this week, I can't see the whole team concentrated on this game. It won't be pretty, but they will find a way to win it.
Straight:San Diego
Spread: Houston
Ovr/Und: Over
Buffalo at New York Jets -3 Ovr/Und 37
UPSET OF THE WEEK II
Buffalo, with all the injuries these guys have, should be 0-7 and shouldn't even be playing, but this team has heart and they are finding ways to win the games. Each week they get better. I like what I see in this Edwards kid. I can't say the same about New York Jets.
Straight:Buffalo
Spread: Buffalo
Ovr/Und: Over
Washington at New Egland -16.5 Ovr/Und 47.5
New England is playing the best football I've seen in years. You can't find a flaw in that team, but they just can't continue that 17 points lead each week, not in todays NFL. Washington is the team that's going to play it close. They have the weapons to do it. Defense is playing good with one of the best secondaries in the league. Taylor is playing his best football ever. Washington plays close games. Expect the same this week.
Straight: New England
Spread: Washington
Ovr/Und: Over
New Orleans at San Fransico 3 Ovr/Und 40.5
I think New Orleans is finally starting to find their groove. Reggie Bush is playing tough and not trying to dance around everybody and Brees is starting to understand int's don't win games, even if Romo can pull it off. San Francisco is just a waste of air time
Straight: New Orleans
Spread: New Orleans
Ovr/Und: Under
Green Bay at Denver -3 Ovr/Und 42
Last week I said that winning in Mile High was hard and it proved right. Still, I just don't see Denver as a great team, Green Bay's defense will be tough to beat, and they play tough on the road.
Straight: Green Bay
Spread: Green Bay
Ovr/Und:Over
Hot Picks
New Orleans
Washington
Buffalo
Indianapolis
New York Giants
Pittsburgh (over)
Cleveland (Over)
Bad week...down to 58%—weird season...
And if it turns out any other way, I'll deny I said this!
