Gibbs: Redskins are 'biggest underdog in the history of sports' - NFL - Yahoo! Sports (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-stagnantredskins&prov=ap&type=lgns)

A pretty bleak outlook. Hopefully it will give the offense some motivation. It sounds like the coaching staff feels the only possibility to win is to go all out agressive on offense.

Also has Portis really not rushed for over 100yds this season? I thought he did at least once

Also somthing interesting I heard yesterday on Riggo radio was speculation that the reason the D hasnt blitzed worth a darn for the last three games (4 weeks) is to save it all for NE and go crazy (I made the go crazy part up).

NE will think we arnt gonna really be blitzing anymore and will be taken offguard by it. Plus the only time Brady has looked bad this season, according to them, was when Dallas was able to get some pressure on him by blitzing.

I disagree. NE isn't going to just look at the game films for the past couple of days and change thier offense because we haven't been blitzing. I'm hoping we blitz early, roll on Brady's ankle and put him out of the game (Just one game, I don't want to see anyone hurt bad). We will have blitz, however our CB, FS, and SS are going to have to be top notch. If we blitz and don't get a lot of pressure on Brady it will be a very long football game.

Thats interesting because I heard on Sports talk 980 that the reason the D wasnt blitzing much is because GW knows a team can occasionally get burned blitzing and since the O cant score he is being careful and playing it safe.

They don't know why GW or the rest of the coaching staff do the things they do anymore than you or I do.

Landry to blitz up the middle and give Brady a shot and knock his ass out.....maybe a concusion... or He throw accross the middle to Randy Moss and Sean Taylor......lines him up........oh boy that would be beautiful.....

Like he stated it was speculation from Riggo. He did not state it as a fact or that he had a source he was just throwing out ideas.

I'd say its because we got burnd allot last year blitzing. This year we are stoping the run and stopping teams passing games so there is no need to blitz as much but I feel we will do more this week.

New Defensive scheme and we are getting some pass rush, we may need to blitz becuase the pats do have an O-line to speak off and we really dont want to give brady any timein the pocket becuase e will pick us apart

The Pats are a veteran team and they will not be overwhelmed by a scheme.
The Patriots have already handled the most feard pass rush of the San Diego Chargers and perrenial sack leader LB Shawne Merriman. They have seen every type pf blitz known to man. GW is not going to re-invent the wheel when it comes to some new type of magical blitz. In looking at the Pats schedule, they play the toughest defenses this year.
They have already played Chargers and Cowboys. This year they will play Redskins, Colts, Eagles, Ravens, Steelers and Giants. If they go undefeated you have to give them respect. Their schedule is not a cake walk.
