I was listening to the radio and had never really thought of this but as of today none of our WR's have caught a TD. I know Cooley has pulled in his share and gives JC a bigger target but not having one after 5 games came as a big surprise. I also think this stat is one of our problems we have had in our 2 losses and our lack of butting up better numbers on O. I think this will change this week. So whats your thought and which WR will catch the first TD?
I'm going way out on a limb and saying BL!!!

I guess I'll go with ARE since he's been tackled at about the 1 yard line twice so far this season. Eventually he's going to fall forward just a little farther.

campbell is hitting our receivers in stride down field....they just gotta make the catch and stay on their feet

I have been thinking about this as well and here is one of my theorys..... Cooley is a big redzone threat, because he is either going to the corner, or "sitting down" beneath the zone. Our WRs need to score on a post or a slant or a crossing pattern which is going against zone coverage a lot of the time. When Campbell has hit the deep one against man coverage, our WRs (Moss and Randle El specifically) are catching the ball, but not in stride, where they can get YAC and score. They have been catching it going out of bounds or then getting tackled immediately. Campbell has a great arm, but our WR are having to adjust a little I think on some of his deeper balls and are doing all they can to just catch it. But they are not able to extend the catch into the homerun. Anyway, those are my thoughts. We have not tried to hit a WR very often in the redzone, because we don't have a big target like a R. Moss or T.O. or Boldin, Marques Colston...... note to Vinny, next year go get a 6-2 WR! I guess Lloyd should be that guy, but he can't get on the field!

It's because they are all too short and rarely get open enough for JC to get them the ball. Notice when they do catch a pass downfield, it is usually threaded in there perfectly. There just isn't any room for error because of their height. They can't go up and fight for the ball against most corners in the league like receivers such as Plaxico or TO or Randy Moss can.

That's my theory anyway.
