The player trades for draft picks have disappointed (Lloyd, Duckett .. but Kendall was a GREAT move).

Most of the picks given away were to move up in the draft (Cambell, Cooley, Macintosh). While I would prefer the FO be patient and value pick from their spot, you can't praise the FO for these picks AND kill them for trading away the future picks.

Moving up in the draft is great but like the blog said, the way to win in the NFL is to build depth and the way to build depth is through the draft. The Skins give away too many draft picks without getting enough in return. I'm not sold on the idea that the organizational philosophy has changed. I still look for the Skins to sign players, give away draft picks, and hope for no injuries.

Its not all about W's and L's sometimes. I am also glad that we have had limited player behavioral issues and sanctions from the league compared to other teams in the NFL. To me, thats is b/c of the type of person Gibbs is and I think that we are on our way back to the promised land.

You hit it out of the park right there.

Now that this team is in a place where we're on the cusp of being a really good one, you have to consider all the things that you *don't* see that have been growing and solidifying and strengthening in the organization, just as much as all the visible results (like draft picks and W-L records).

Prior to Joe getting here, this franchise had become one where the inmates ran the asylum and we had allowed our winning culture to slip into that of a losing, payroll-oriented media circus. What Joe is doing, as far as I am concerned, is restoring the priorities and philosophies of this organization, from the top down.

The thing most people forget about the Bailey-Portis trade is that Bailey did NOT want to be in Washington. He refused to play here, and the Broncos knew that so they had some leverage to push for more in the trade.
