Public enemy #1 for the Skins this year has been...

It's obvious that the dropped passes have been the worst thing for us. That and fumbling. The second thing is injuries on the offensive line. When our backups to our backups are getting hurt, then how do you expect to get any consistent running lanes or pass protection? For crying out loud, is Chris Samuels the only starter left on the line? (Although I'm hoping CR is back at Center next week.)

As far as playcalling is concerned, it's been ok this year. It's funny how the misinformed continue to blame Joe Gibbs when Al Saunders is the one who calls the plays. So, if playcalling was the real issue, then one would have issues with Al Saunders and not Joe Gibbs. Besides, saying that conservatism is a staple in Joe Gibbs' offense obviously wasn't around when we were winning championships, but I digress.

When Colts or Pats have guys out someone steps up and literally has the best game of their career up to that pt. Didn't we start at the 50 yard line (thanks to Rock's great return) when Moss fumbled and CW ran it back for the deciding TD? Short field didn't help us much there

1. Brandon Lloyd is officially a backup, right? He looks like a rookie playing for the league minimum every time he sets foot on the field.

2. Wade and Fabini came in looking totally disjointed on the right side and we still don't have a run game (decent at pass protection).

3. The line utterly collapsed when Pucillo came in at center.

There are a lot of bright spots on D, but Godfrey is a proven vet (a guy any team could count on to come in and perform). So, GW did his job. WE HAVE NO OFFENSIVE CONSISTENCY - INJURIES OR NO F'ING INJURIES (NEW YORK), AND YOU CAN'T EVEN BEGIN TO BE A PLAYOFF TEAM W/O BEING CONSISTENT ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL.

But the real story here isn't the Redskins, it's how teams serous about winning rise to the occasion no matter what. Maroney goes out for NE and Morris comes in w/o missing a beat for 100 yd rushing games. Colts lose the the best blind-side tackle in the league to retirement and still go undefeated because they find and cultivate the talent to succeed. If Samuels goes out we get Stephen Heyer (a guy who almost cost our one consistent contributor on offense (Campbell) a whole fucking season because of poor execution.

Is the contrast clear enough? We don't have IT. We can, but it will take new management to get us their and we can't lose the few bright spots on offense in the meantime.

I put dropped passes, but as a stand for for "lack of execution." Been getting within in inches of breaking things open, but then failing to hit it. Fingertip close, in lots of cases.

I guess I didn't really think of Lloyd in your example. I thought more along the lines of how well Heyer stepped in week one, Kendall all season long, Demetric Evans, Godfrey, and Chris Wilson at various points in the season, Todd Wade for Jansen.

You've totally lost me. Who was I calling out? You think I was trying to call out The Zimmermans? I wasn't. Not at all.

I think we lost for two main reasons 1.) We didn't catch the ball, 2.) We shouldn't even have been throwing the ball in the first place. I believe we had a 2:1 pass to run ratio. In conditions such as yesterday Portis and Betts each should have had 15-20 carries.
