irish 10-15-2007, 02:27 PM If I'm not mistaken, face guarding is no longer a penalty under nfl rules.
I had no idea the rule had been changed. Thanks to you & Smoot for setting me straight.
TheBigD 10-15-2007, 02:36 PM That's what I thought until I listened closely. I just don't remember him saying something positive about the redskins without also saying something negative.
Dude, he is like that even with the Cowboys. You should have seen the number of threads they have on Cowboys forums about how scared Aikman is of saying something nice about the Cowboys and how he praised McNabb in one of his games.
As fans, not excluding myself, we tend to hear what we want to hear. The first half, there were many compliments about JC and how good he is with his decision making after he scored that run TD. He defended him when Woodson some how came up with that "interception" and said it was Moss's fault.

I only remember Woodson intercepting 1 ball and sharing the catch with Randle-El. If anyone made a mistake on that play, and it could have gone either way - it was the refs for not calling it a catch for Randle-El.
Plus like I said, even if what you are saying is true - he doesn't say too many good things about the redskins without saying something bad (to sort of negate it).
The Zimmermans 10-15-2007, 02:43 PM aikman is a good commentator...better than theisman....too bad I have to credit a cowboy

If that's the case, I would only hear good things about the redskins. Instead of debating on putting it on mute.

Maybe because since Aikman starting workin the booth the Redskins have pretty much sucked every year??? We've stunk out loud for the most part since 1991. Should he just make up nice things to say? You think Aikman would have been "negating" his positive comments if he was calling the Detroit game last week? I doubt it. He repeatedly complimented our defense yesterday. I offense didn't deserve any credit, and he didn't give us any. Fine by me.

I see your point, I just do not like the idea of listening to a ex-great Cowboys qb commenting on an entire redskins game. There has to be some bais in there, it's only instinctive.
And I do not want his cowboys bais affecting what I think of the redskins - no matter how controlled they seem to be.
theJBexperience 10-15-2007, 02:57 PM Can we get some receivers that can catch? What will we do next year if Santana doesn't get his hands back, McCardell retires, and B Lloyd is on the short bus out of here?

If anyone made a mistake on that play, and it could have gone either way - it was the refs for not calling it a catch for Randle-El. No, it was Moss's fault. If you touch it you must catch it. Moss deflected up in the air, woodson and ARE came down with it, and for some weird reason the refs gave GB the ball.

Like I said, he said many negative things about the Cowboys as well, he trys not show any lean toward any team. They try not say too many good or bad things about either team. Remeber, Packers as well as Redskins fans watch the game. Fox doesn't want to lose either fan-base and I am sure they strict commentators on how much they can praise or critisize a team. I am talking in general here, not just Aikman.
TruckMcLaren 10-15-2007, 05:08 PM This is the REAL Redskins team we all missed seeing! What a bunch of CLOWNS! I dont know about anyone else, but Im sick of having FALSE HOPE!!! I think it's time to start watching golf on Sundays. P.S. I hate watching golf!!!
