Philip Zaroo, of MLive.com, reports Washington Redskins TE Chris Cooley said the Detroit Lions quit in the second half of their Week 5 game. "I think it was a contributing factor in why we won the game," Cooley said. "I mean, Detroit's not practicing in 90-degree heat. We have been. We were pretty used to it. They were dead in the second half. They didn't care. It seemed like they didn't care what happened."

Ouch. You know Gibbs pulled him in his office and gave him a lecture.

Even if he was serious who cares. Would anyone actually be afraid of playing the Lions again this year?

As long as they keep refusing to run the ball they are no threat to hit Kitna's 10 win prediction.

I beg to differ, look at their schedule. They could easily win 10 games. Just because we beat someone doesen't mean they are out of it for the rest of the year.

I'll take that bet. They won't win 10 games I'll guarantee it right now.

I'm definitely with you here. That team sucks. It'll show over the course of the season.

Teams going up against Detroit the rest of the way are just going to do exactly what the Skins did to them scheme wise on defense until they prove they are willing to run the ball, and given Mike Martz's past history he's just not going to do it.

I, too, think it would take a couple of very fortunate situations for the Lions to win 7 more games this season. They've got some good receivers that will put up points, though. Teams will have to come with excellent coverage every game.

the lions won't win ten games this year because everybody now knows all you have to do to beat them is bring a big ass heat lamp, wear'm down...haha, they won't care -(we executed well sunday, let's make it a year long thing, hail skins!!)

Why would he say that? I mean, really, what would be the point? I have ran through the possibilities in my head, and have not come up with a positive one.
It could be said that it undermines the great game by the Skins, and by saying they quit, it wasn't us that won, it was them that quit. That's not a very positive outlook.
Also, are you calling the Lions quitters? And if so, what is the point of that? To piss them off for later...or maybe show the entire NFL that we will call you to the table if we think you dogged it a little? That will just make other teams work harder.

If I was Gibbs I'd smack him on the mouth for saying something so useless. It can't possibly help, it only can cause issues. Just not smart at all.
