As charted by DVOA (http://www.footballoutsiders.com/2007/10/09/ramblings/dvoa-ratings/5585/), their metric for efficency.

For those who aren't familiar with DVOA, its nothing more than a system of showing how good a team has been based on factors that tend to translate well towards the future. It has predictive power, but is not the be all end all. Keep in mind that we are only 5 weeks in.

I still think that at the end of the year, we will have more wins than Dallas.

The offense grades out as league average thus far, and the defense ranks as utterly dominant. Special teams is also very much league average.

I like all these rankings enough but would rather hav a good ranking at the year's end.

Not to rain on the parade, but did you also notice that the Redskins have the #1 hardest schedule going forward based on current DVOA? Doesn't get any easier. Thanks for reminding me about Football Outsiders though, I haven't been on that site in a while.

Look at this way: All of the undefeated teams probably won't go undefeated all season. I like to think that the Skins will be the team to spoil their run for destiny.

DVOA isn't really a great predictor of future strength of schedule because it changes so much every week.

But in past DVOA, Dallas had the 32nd ranked schedule...which is good for something.

Of the Cowboys last 11 games, 5 of them are against division opponents. New England this week and Green Bay are also on the schedule as well as Detroit, Minn, and Carolina.

Their tough streach is coming up from now thru the middle of Nov. NE, Minn, BYE, then 3 straight division opponents with the first 2 on the road.

The Cowboys could very easily lose 3 of these next 5.

The Skins on the other hand have a mixed bag, tough games followed by not so tough games. Green Bay (tough), then Arizona (not so tough), then New England (very tough), then NY Jets (not so tough).

Everyone talks about the season in 1/4 increments. If the Skins go 2-2 for the next month, I would be happy (5-3) for the last half, do it again and you have 10-6! Realistic and maybe the Cowboys stumble and come back to us.
