jsarno 10-09-2007, 08:58 PM We are better than the Titans and the Jags. GMScud 10-09-2007, 09:12 PM The bad news is that the Cowboys are looking very good this year. The good news is that, aside from Dallas and Green Bay, NO team in the NFC looks very formidable. If NFC teams keep playing like they have been thus far, we should go deep into the playoffs. Is it just me, or is it a down year for most big name players and most teams in general?Shawn Alexander, LT, Larry Johnson, Frank Gore, Marc Bulger, Drew Brees, Donovan McNabb, Steve Smith, and others who usually are top-performers are stumbling out of the gate. Teams like the Saints, Eagles, Bears, Charger, Bengals and others are struggling. What's up? Parity parity parity. It's amazing how a bad or mediocre team one year can be good or great the next. Salary cap? Injuries? Who knows. So many factors. I'll tell you one thing (and anyone who plays fantasy football will agree), the days of one-back teams are fading fast. This year more than ever is showing the emergence of multiple running back systems. Bears- No QB, Chargers- Norv Turner, Bengals - No D, Eagles - ??, Saints - ??. Crazy year so far. Aside from the Colts and Pats, the playoff teams in each conference are becoming more and more of a toss up each year... Sheriff Gonna Getcha 10-09-2007, 09:18 PM It's definitely parity at work GMScud, it just never ceases to amaze me. When I heard Kornheiser say that a few weeks back I spit up my Miller Lite. True story. That was hilarious. Sheriff Gonna Getcha 10-09-2007, 09:25 PM That's a GREAT sig SGG. You beat me to it. When I heard Kornheiser say that a few weeks back I spit up my Miller Lite. True story. That was hilarious. Thanks. I too laughed and rhetorically asked my girlfriend, "Isn't that just classic?" She just gave me a blank stare and had no idea why it was so funny. GMScud 10-09-2007, 09:29 PM Thanks. I too laughed and rhetorically asked my girlfriend, "Isn't that just classic?" She just gave me a blank stare and had no idea why it was so funny. HA! I was fortunate enough to be watching the game with a few Giants fans who could appreciate the humor. It was funny as hell though. Kornheiser can get on my nerves, but that one was a gem. SC Skins Fan 10-09-2007, 09:49 PM I prefer it when the experts pick against the Skins. Like when 3 of the 5 experts on NFL Gameday took the Lions to beat the Skins at home coming off a bye. Last time the experts got excited about the Skins in the power rankings the Giants came into town. I'm just saying, I prefer that the Skins get disrespected by the national media rather than become the darlings of the NFL. They seem to perform better in that role. 70Chip 10-10-2007, 02:32 PM Green Bay is ranked ahead of us, so if we win in Lambo (new American spelling) we will be pushing towards the top 5. That would make the Cowboys and the Redskins the top 2 teams in the NFC which would make the two regular season games (and a possible playoff showdown) take on historic significance. Oh the joy that would flood my soul if we could see that happen. |
