If Moss is out vs the Lions (seems likely) then we are up shit's creek without a paddle. This lineup does not scare anyone: 1- Randel El 2- Caldwell 3- McCardell 4- Thrash 5- Lloyd (unsure if he will play this week too) Wrong,Wrong, Wrong -- Thrash is special and that creek ain't shit:smashfrea skinsnut 10-07-2007, 11:12 PM Wrong,Wrong, Wrong -- Thrash is special and that creek ain't shit:smashfrea Im more worried about Caldwell than any others.... I think he may be the odd man out In a weird way, Im still hoping Lloyd gets it and gets a 2nd chance MTRedskinsFan 10-07-2007, 11:21 PM Thrash is ok at best. I can only see him in 3 WR sets...which is rare anyways. If he starts over Lloyd, I will be upset. Yes, I think Lloyd may suck, but...cmon, he's got a lot of natural ability. I understand if they start Thrash, just to send Lloyd a message...but the plan was always...Moss, Lloyd, Randel El...if Lloyd doesn't get in the game today, he never will. Thrash aint anything special...yes, he does catch well, but does he have starting WR talent....I dont think so. Just so you know I'm not disagreeing out of perfect hindsight vision, my posts leading up the game today said Thrash was the best replacement. You're wrong about him. Aside from ARE, Thrash is probably the best at getting open (Moss does it w/ his speed but not much beyond that). Thrash also has the best hands on the team (remember all the dropped passes to Moss and Lloyd). Even ARE drops a few. Thrash is almost a guaranteed catch and he is tough as hell after the catch. If anyone should move ahead of him it would be Caldwell. SmootSmack 10-07-2007, 11:26 PM Im more worried about Caldwell than any others.... I think he may be the odd man out In a weird way, Im still hoping Lloyd gets it and gets a 2nd chance We have soooo much more invested in Lloyd than Caldwell, and it'd be nice to see a return on that investment jsarno 10-07-2007, 11:37 PM Wrong,Wrong, Wrong -- Thrash is special and that creek ain't shit:smashfrea No he's not...but apparently we can win without Moss and ARE. skinsfanthru&thru 10-08-2007, 12:24 AM Nope. He played about to his potential...average. 2 catches for 11 yards, a fumble lost (could have been HUGE), and did his only damage during that return. How exactly did he have a great performance (like you are implying)? I never said he had a great performance but he had a damn good game for someone multiple people have claimed shouldn't even have a spot on the roster. plus he was the teams only consistent down the field threat but Campbell was a little errant on his down field passes to Thrash which resulted in Thrash being out of bounds for each catch. JWsleep 10-08-2007, 01:57 AM Odd argument here... Is Thrash great? Well, no question he's not as good as Moss or ARE or McCardell, even at his age. But who cares? He busts his ass every play, he's (so everyone on the skins seems to say) one of the hardest workers on the team, he does whatever they ask, and when, with our 2 best WRs (and our best PR) down, they needed someone to make a play, he did. And that's part of why we won. He's got less talent than Lloyd and yet he makes plays. Why? Because he works harder. That's why Gibbs (and everyone else in the locker room) loves the guy. A core Redskin. hooskins 10-08-2007, 01:59 AM Odd argument here... Is Thrash great? Well, no question he's not as good as Moss or ARE or McCardell, even at his age. But who cares? SanFranSkinsFan 10-08-2007, 02:15 AM WR James Thrash a Washington Redskin twice over, with few seasons as an Eagle, has not been firmly worked into the offensive scheme so far. Thrash has come in on a few passing downs in recent games, but he seems to be a far second reciever behind both Moss and Randle El. My question is how can Thrash be best utilized in the current offense? Hopefully as a backup to Santana and Randel El. Keenan is probably better overall and obviously Cooley and now Sellers should be factors. But Thrash should pick up the trash going over the middle on some slants, since he's not much a speed threat and the Packers LBs ain't that fast (besides Barnett). |
