ESPN - Sources: Broncos' Henry violates drug policy again - NFL (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3049721)

Denver Broncos tailback Travis Henry, the NFL's leading rusher through the first four weeks of the season, is facing a one-year suspension for a repeat violation of the substance abuse policy, multiple sources told ESPN.com on Thursday night.

But in a battle that has reached the federal court system, Henry is attempting to block the league from testing the so-called "B-sample" necessary to confirm the positive test, claiming that NFL officials would not allow his expert to be present for the testing of his specimen.

Dude just can't stay away from doing weed. Why would you do it when you know your going to get tested. He's throwing away millions of dollars for weed???? You would think that Henry would be smarter since he has 39 kids to pay for by 34 different women. What a dumb ass.

Dude, that's why he's smoking. Either to mellow out from the stress of nine children by nine women or to reduce his fertility so he doesn't end up with #10. Too bad the SOB was my first round pick in fantasy this year (12th overall). I've got Selvin Young so hopefully he can be the next Mike Anderson or something. I hate to be selfish or condone such illegality, but for fantasy purposes I'd really like the court injunction to hold up somehow. Doesn't seem likely. What a freaking idiot!

The issue being challenged by Henry is that the NFL would not allow his expert to observe the testing of the "B-sample." Although the collective bargaining agreement permits a player to have an expert present for the testing, Aiello said that expert cannot be affiliated with any laboratory. The expert presented by Henry did have such an affiliation.

The league provided Henry with the names of 10 independent experts as reference for his potential use.

It's like having your real state agent refer you to their preferred inspector. I hope this absurdity won't be upheld in court.

I wish SC was around, I think Henry now qualifies for the meathead club.

I kind of doubt the NFL was out to get Travis Henry or give him a bogus expert. He got busted and I can't imagine the injunction holding up in court for any extended period of time. The clock is ticking on this dudes career. On a somewhat related note, what happens to his massive child support payments when he is kicked out of the league? Is he still liable? This guy is beyond screwed.

He was also my first round pick. He's been a fantasy stud so far outscoring all other RB's. Fortunately I also drafted Selvin too. I also picked up Mike Bell, Just incase...

This is from Bill Simmons today, it cracked me up

Random question on the Travis Henry thing: I thought pot killed sperm cells? How many kids would this guy have sired if he wasn't a fan of the Mary Jane? 20? 30? And did you ever think the same person could potentially shatter Shawn Kemp's fertility records and Ricky Williams' drug test records? Put it this way: You are making a STRONG statement when you purchase a Henry jersey right now. You're basically saying, "I love pot, I love sex, and your dad would have a heart attack if he knew I was dating you.")

I don't think the NFL is out to get him but still...it's the principle of the matter that concerns me not what happens Henry.
