Unfortunately, I think we might not win with Moss and Portis. The Lions are another one of those offensive explosion teams that I don't think we can keep up with offensively.
Can the redskins beat the lions without portis and mossDaseal 10-02-2007, 06:53 AM Unfortunately, I think we might not win with Moss and Portis. I wish we had Randy Thomas back.. gibbsisgod 10-02-2007, 07:35 AM I can see the Lions coming in and having a big letdown after a huge win last week. They are in for a rude awakening come Sunday. We are not the Bears. JC will beat them deep on atleast 4 occasions. Moss and Portis will play and Portis will have 200 yards from scrimmage. Moss will be doubled all day so ARE and Lloyd will both score. Yea I said Lloyd will score. We put up 40+, and the Defense gets 6 sacks and 4 picks from Kitna and hold them to 13. Bitches! MTK 10-02-2007, 08:13 AM If Moss can't go I think that's a bigger loss than Portis. Betts is a more than capable backup, but we have some serious question marks at WR behind Randle El. I hope Caldwell is ready to go and can give us some meaningful snaps. irish 10-02-2007, 08:23 AM I can see the Lions coming in and having a big letdown after a huge win last week. When is the last time the Skins scored 40+ points? djnemo65 10-02-2007, 08:27 AM When is the last time the Skins scored 40+ points? From memory I think it was San Francisco in 05. There's no question that Moss would be a bigger loss than Portis. Our roster is built to sustain RB injuries, but our depth is so lacking at WR even with Moss in the lineup it's hard to imagine us really threatening to stretch the field. MTK 10-02-2007, 08:39 AM Randle El can get deep, but obviously losing Moss would hurt since he's one of the best deep threats in the game today. Also, it would be nice if we could get Cooley more involved with the passing game and less involved with blocking. htownskinfan 10-02-2007, 08:51 AM I can see the Lions coming in and having a big letdown after a huge win last week. Bitches! thats about the funniest thing I've heard all year! us score 40 points, and LLoyd gets a td too :yeahright mlmpetert 10-02-2007, 08:51 AM Unfortunately, I think we might not win with Moss and Portis. The Lions are another one of those offensive explosion teams that I don't think we can keep up with offensively. Maybe playing a against a explosive offense will make the coaches call a less conservative game. Or if we have to come back from behind we'll get to see what our offense can do this year, but possibly w/o Moss or Portis. I really wish we had more then a week to practice, oh wait... #56fanatic 10-02-2007, 09:09 AM I dont know that having portis or moss would make a difference. With those two playing we haven't been able to score enough points. Everyone keeps saying its the Lions, we will beat them no problems. While the die hard fan in me wants to believe that we can and will beat them, I have my doubts. the Lions have 3 to 4 receivers that can get the ball and Kitna is playing pretty good. Now you add Kevin Jones to Tatum Bell and that is a pretty decent 1,2 punch. Offensively they move the ball and put some points up. If we sit back in the cover 3 crap and dont blitz and apply pressure to Kitna they will eat us alive. It may not be big plays but they will methatically move the ball down the field. offensively if we dont get cooley involved with some balls down the middle of the field our receivers will not get open down field on the outside. We will need to score a minimum of 28 points to keep this close, and I just dont know if we can put that many points up. we haven't put that many points up in quite a while. If we can get a decent run game going early i think those big plays down field will open up for Randel el, Reche, and maybe moss if he plays. I would like to see some of WR screens we use to run so well. Detroit plays somewhat aggressive and that could be a big play if executed. go SKINS!! |
