Two things--one, the gint D is good, and that helps explain some (not all!) of what went on in the second half last week. Two, we gave them the gift of life. WHY, WHY do we always save the giant's season and their friggin half-assed coach's job??? Coughlin ought to send the skins some of his contract every year--we make him look better than he is.

Finally--man, no Westbrook, no wideouts, no offensive line: it's all McNabb's fault! ;)

I all honesty I think McNabb has been rather over-rated throughout his career. I think for the most part you can look at his stats and see that he is a good QB but not the great QB that so many us to believe. BUT I have felt he was good enough to be a top 10 QB and could lead a SB winner with the right components. He has never had that. I have also felt for a while, admittedly without much hard evidence, that Reid is big time over-rated. His offense is one dimensional and he seems completely out of touch in terms of leading his team. I think every time I watch them I realize how much they wasted McNabb's prime and how they should have won at least one SB by now. I blame Reid for it all. Seriously can anyone say that they haven't screwed McNabb's prime years up? They gave him no weapons and then they proceeded to ask him to throw the ball 65% of the time without those weapons. They finally get someone who can play, Westbrook, by accident almost but he is hurt all the time. Why is this not a story? Where are all the journalists killing this organization?

I would agree with your statements. McNabb is a very good QB when healthy and when he has weapons. Right now he has neither. I think perhaps the organization feels like they don't need to spend alot of $ on wr's. I know they have tried the draft and failed w/ Freddie Mitchell and Reggie Brown. They tried the FA route w/ TO and they got burned. So now they bring in 2nd tier guys like Stallworth and Curtis. Guys like that are serviceable but not true #1 NFL wr's.

All of a sudden the Giants are back in the East race. Maybe last week wasn't a fluke for them?

Prior to the eagles game night the teams that played the Giants were 8-1. The one loss being our loss to them. So a 1-2 record was somewhat deceptive.

I don't know about Reid--he's got a great record. He hasn't won the big one. The TO implosion really hurt them, and they had serious injury problems. But when Garcia was in there (and in other years, people like Jay Feely!) the team still won. Some of it's defense, but lots of it was Reid's offense.

And I just don't buy that McNabb is over-rated. When he was healthy, he could beat you with his legs or his arm. It's true that he's a streak passer, and that can hurt his numbers, but when he's on, he can be unstoppable. Is he Manning? Brady? No, but he's up there. Whatever. I'm happy to see the iggles implode, but I don't buy the argument about McNabb, and especially about Reid.

And trust me, in Philly there are plenty of Journalists ragging on the iggles. But year after year they make the playoffs, got to 3 NFC Champ games and one SB. Wasted McNabb's best years? Short of winning the SB (which I agree is vital, but it's not the only way to evaluate things), how else did they waste those years?

PS I really do hate the iggles, but this is exactly the argument my philly friends make to me--McNabb sucks, Reid sucks, etc. No, you philly fans suck! Santa Claus Rules!

Blame Reid and Banner for never giving McNabb a WR of note, T.O. aside. Look at McNabb's stats when he had a true #1 receiver in T.O.'s first season - they're off the charts. This regime also drafted Todd Pinkston and Billy McMullen. At some point, Reid and Banner should have helped McNabb by signing a top free agent WR not named T.O.

And how about the freaking Bears sucking balls?! I don't even know what to think anymore.

Like are we going to get beat by the Lions and/or Packers? And since I think the Cowboys are actually good now, I want to see them play someone that isn't a patsy, just for proof. This season is making me crazy.

Who would have ever thought San Diego is playing this bad (Thanks Norv! ;)) or the Packers would be this GOOD?

Or you could say that he is not a very good QB when he has no weapons and no offensive line. He was basically playing QB without wideouts or a LT.

That was a really ugly game. The G-men should have put up 50 points on them. I just wish I would have started the Giants D on my f-team. 12 sacks is a lot of points.
