Well, we lost to those same Giants that they played. I hate to say it but the Cowboys are Super Bowl contenders this year just because who in the NFC can stop them?

Well....lets see? THE REDSKINS!
Daseal 09-30-2007, 07:38 PM How about the Lions throwin' 34 pts up in the 4th qrtr today!!?? 7 of those was a fluke from the onsides kick, but 27pts were very real....Damn! I hope our CB's are ready to play!
I doubt we let the Lions do that to us, but our offense better put up at least 28 points. If they don't, we will not win this game.
DCborn 09-30-2007, 07:56 PM The Cowboys are going to the Super Bowl ( I now pause to swallow the throwup in my mouth). Romo looks awesome, their offense is freaking rolling, and their defense is playing well. Their only weakness appears to be their secondary. And you know what really bites? They freakin have two 1st round picks next year, theirs and Cleveland's. I hate Dallas.
I consider myself a realist when viewing the present top NFL teams...However,I think there's way too football to play to crown Dallas NFC champs. I'm sick of weak kneed comments that Dallas is the best in the NFC. I say wait until game 8 of the season before making a clear evaluation. Many teams peak early and fall due to key player injuries, While other make a run later in the season. Yes,the Cowboys looking good now but they can be beaten like any other team.
MTRedskinsFan 09-30-2007, 08:22 PM Don't forget how hot dallas got last year when romo came in off the bench but then he and the team fizzled late in the year and then we all remember that glorious playoff game of theirs!!! I believe the Giants and Falcons started 6-2 last year....how'd they end up?? That being said, so far they do look good so far this year....but I'm waiting on T.O. to start something soon...he can't keep his mouth shut all year.
Thank you dude. When I first started to read this post I was like WTF. Way too early in the season to say anything about SB contenders unless talking about Pats or Colts. Secondly, as I've said in another thread, Dallas' success is tied to Romo and he seems to be a player who rides on emotion. Big highs, big lows... just like last season. Maybe the whole season is a high, but I doubt it. Something will happen - a good defense pummels him all game or intercepts him and suddenly his confidence falls. Then the emotion he feeds off becomes detrimental. Personally, I prefer the stable types like Campbell. Sure I want more TD passes and bigger numbers too, but that has a lot to do w/ coaching/playcalling.
Anyway, F the Cowpokes. And I think the packers look better too.
EARTHQUAKE2689 09-30-2007, 08:30 PM Shit the Colts started 13-0 a couple of seasons ago and lost in their first playoff game at home.

Well, although you didn't mention it, I will say that I should have prefaced my comments with "Barring major injuries." Of course major injuries can happen to any team, and even the best team can have their season derailed by them. But to say that at this point in their careers you would rather have Campbell than Romo, I don't understand that comment. I love to watch JC, he throws an incredible deep ball. That being said, AT THIS POINT, Romo is clearly the better QB.
pdid5000 09-30-2007, 08:51 PM I hate to say it but u might b right
GiantsSuck703 09-30-2007, 09:12 PM Im going to put this in perspective for the OP. The cowboys have played the Giants, Dolphins, Bears and Rams.
Dallas 45 Giants 35
We only gave up 24 points to the Giants, and if Al Saunders would have called a better game and kept the defense off the field it would have been a much different outcome.
Dallas 37 Miami 20
Another bad team, actually one of the worst in the NFL, if not the worst
Dallas 34 Chicago 10
Did you watch Chicago against the Lions today, enough said.
Dallas 35 Rams 7
The Rams are right there with the Dolphins, they cant throw, they cant run and they cant stop anyone.
Until Dallas plays a team that has any sort of strength on there roster, I refuse to take them seriously. Romo is playing good right now, but hes torching very weak secondaries. Maybe Im wrong, maybe there not just hype and there actually a really good team, but I just refuse to believe that right now, lets leave the superbowl reservations for there matchup with New England in two weeks because guess what, somehow they end up with another cake game next against buffalo. If they blow out the Patriots, then I will say there good but I just dont see it, im sorry. There defense is not good enough to make a superbowl run.
