sandtrapjack 10-01-2007, 02:35 PM Thats what I was doing when Romo dropped that gimme field goal snap last year
Yeah me too, when Betts got tripped up on 4th and goal! Right after the Giants went on a 24-0 run in the second half.
Twilbert07 10-01-2007, 02:35 PM Unfortunately, the Cowboys do look for real. Their offense is somewhat scary, the way its can score so quickly. The Redskins better start scoring in the 20s and 30s to hang with the Cowboys, Packers and Patriots.
skinsfan69 10-01-2007, 02:38 PM Wasn't New York a much better team, defensively especially, when they beat us as opposed to when Dallas put up a 45 spot on them?
Yes, Dallas' offense is better than ours, but if New York had been as awful against the run and pass in Week 3 as they were in Week 1, that game probably wouldn't have been close.
I said that Dallas' win over the Bears in Chicago was really freakin impressive, but as it gets farther in the rear view mirror, it's already starting to look like a game they should have won.
I think the Giants will beat the Cowboys the next time they play. With all the pub Romo is getting, I think a lot of people are underrating the job Eli has been doing. Hell, I think a lot of people on here are underrating Eli...and he just put together a hell of a game on our home field to beat us.
Eli is really playing some good football right now. No question about that. Another guy that impresses me is Garcia. He's not flashy and he won't blow you away with stats. But all he seems to do is get the job done.
To me if you can win on the road against the NFC Champs then that is very impressive. Chi. is still a good team. Plus they are getting killed by injuries. It will be interesting to see how they will address the qb situation next year.

The thing is they don't even have Glenn and they are still putting up alot of points.
Dallas is getting it done right now, I'm not trying to take anything away from them, but we're 4 games in. Anything can happen between now and week 17, that goes for the other teams that everyone is drooling over including the Patriots. There's just too much football to go to get too excited over anyone.
70Chip 10-01-2007, 03:00 PM They don't give out rings in September or October. Dallas is very good but it's a long haul from here. Romo could get hurt. Owens could get hurt. They may even play a team that figures out you have to cover Whitten. Lots of things can happen.

Agreed. It's funny to me that everyone is blowing Dallas and New England. I've even heard an ESPN radio guy call the Pats a "perfect" football team. Meanwhile, the Colts and Packers are also undefeated, and have played better all around football against better teams. But it's much too early to put any of these teams in the Superbowl. I'll be very surprised if the Cowboys can finish the season with the same spark they've shown the last few weeks.
WillH 10-01-2007, 03:33 PM Admittedly the Cowboys' success makes me nervous, but I am going to reserve my judgment. The only team they have beaten that seems like it might actually be decent this year is the Giants, and despite our loss to them last week I think we are just as good of a team if not better.
I would have said that the win over the Bears was impressive, but after seeing them fall to 1-3 after being embarrassed by the Lions I think they will be the biggest disappointment in the NFC this year.
Honestly, as always the NFC is WIDE OPEN, anyone has a chance to make it to the big game this year. It all comes down to how you play in any given week. Although the loss to the Giants was disheartening, and we ourselves have had no impressive wins this season either, I am feeling a little better about our chances to make it to the playoffs this season after this week's games. I will feel confident even if we can manage to come out of the bye and beat the Lions, Packers, and Cards. If we don't it will be tough to hold out hope, because the rest of the season is gonna be very very tough.

I'll be very surprised if the Cowboys can finish the season with the same spark they've shown the last few weeks.Let's be honest, Dallas and New England deserve the accolades they're receiving at the quarter pole of the season. Who else would you predict for the Super Bowl at this point? That can change quickly with injuries, slumps, etc. I still say that the Skins back 7 on defense give us a fighting chance to match up against their passing attack. The fact that Owens visibly avoids Sean Taylor plays in our favor. The guy who really worries me is Whitten. I hope that we don't try to cover him with a linebacker, I like our chances better with either Taylor or Landry.
Giantone 10-01-2007, 04:07 PM Speaking of the Giants, I've always fellt they are one of these teams they could finish dead last or win the whole division.
I'm very torn this year becuase I feel the same way,I want the team to win and I think they can win..........yet I hate Coughlin with a passsion and if we must lose to get a new coach then so be it!
