What happened to the NBA Live franchise anyway?

I remember playing the hell outta that game back in the day, I rented it a few years ago and it was almost unplayable it was so horrible.

I play Live but I was on PS2 last year and it was terrible on there. But I like the controls better on Live shooting with the stick just is weird to me on 2k8

but you can also shoot with the X button on the XBOX 360.....the shot stick is for accuracy
