There are some here that indeed drink that kool aid, then push their kool aid on others. It's OK...just pointing out the irony.
Like GMan said, sometimes people find solice in the fact that there are others that feel the way they do.
So why not let others vent? Like I said, I don't like the "this team is doomed" comments as much as you do (and for the record I did not say those things like SS implied I did) but let's not get any dilusions that the knee jerk reactions are solely by those that are predicting doom. It's also from those complaining about those same people.
Really? News to me. Care to name some names? Shoot me a PM if you want.
The problem is we don't need a bunch of different threads all about playcalling, and a bunch of threads all titled something like "what happened?".
People are free to vent but I think we just need to reel it in a bit at times and check our emotions at the door.
After a win you don't see a bunch of threads crowing about how the game was the best win ever, the playcalling ruled, or Gibbs should be re-signed to a lifetime contract. So why do we have to deal with the exact opposite?
Let's try to maintain some middle ground. Venting when taken to an extreme doesn't add much value to the site in my opinion.
Sheriff Gonna Getcha 09-25-2007, 02:16 PM The Colts NEVER play conservative and look at them.
True, but we shouldn't heap unfair expectations onto this team. The fact is that this is a team that is growing with a young QB - the coaches are trying to figure out his limits and adjust accordingly, the receivers are trying to get down their timing with him, and JC is gaining experience which should serve him well in the future. While many of us have been more than patient with the team, we need to remain patient as JC develops.

I agree to an extent. We do all have a bunch of comments about how wonderful Gibbs is when we win, but I understand your point.
I will PM you.
SmootSmack 09-25-2007, 02:22 PM For the record SS, I don't want Gibbs fired, I don't think the season is over, I want the coaching staff to stop being conservative and letting other teams back into the game. The Colts NEVER play conservative and look at them.
I never said you wanted him fired
SmootSmack 09-25-2007, 02:22 PM Wow..Smoot/Gman are going to get into it a little bit today... Now while there is ALOT to what Smoot said...and trust me some of the crap that people write on this site are understandably frustrating, perticularly when someone has to sort through all that crap to remove posts and make sure the sight is going to run smoothly....but theres somthing to what is said here too I think, and I dont agree with Jsnaro on a ton of issues, but I often find this place to be very theraputic to vent after a loss, because instead of people just going "its ok, its just a game..or all the other crap I hear at home" I feel like people here understand the frustrations...so I dont nessicarily think people need to "cool down" before they post anything, because I think posting is part of cooling down and venting your frustrations....now this DOES NOT mean that people should start a million threads about every single little thing that is going on and bothering them, but I think if you want to be hot headed a little bit I think thats a good thing....
Hey, I brought you into the mod world and I'll take you out! :)
Seriously though, see what I like is a thread like the one about "What Would You Have Done" about what plays you would have called on the goalline at the end of the game. That's a good thread that sparks legit discussion.
It seems like there have been a lot of good counterpoints to some of the "negative" opinions that have pervaded the site the past couple of days. But, those counterpoints have been largely ignored by most because they just don't want to hear it. They need their time, I suppose, to sulk.
I don't know, maybe it's because (and you can relate to this) we mods are in a bit of a separate position where we have to read every post. It's mind-numbing to go through some of these posts after each loss.
Anyway, I'll let it go. If people feel better by complaining so be it. I'll never understand that but whatever.
SouperMeister 09-25-2007, 02:22 PM I'd say that it's more frustration than panic. This was a huge opportunity lost given how tough the schedule gets in the 2nd half.
I'm mostly frustrated that the coaching staff refused to attack a shaky NY secondary that everyone else has shredded so far. I admired how the Cowboys went after Chicago's secondary early with the pass to set up running success later. Perhaps Gibbs/Saunders will take note of that when we host Chicago in December. If they don't call plays to exploit Archuleta in coverage, I'll be amazed.

I'm not trying to put unrealistic expectation on this team. I know we will have growing pains, but the Skins play better when they are not hand cuffed. I'd rather live and die with unconservative play.
Not once did I say anything negative about JC. Just the coaches.
EARTHQUAKE2689 09-25-2007, 04:38 PM One example of "not fans" "Not fans" are the ones who are nowhere to be found after the first 2 wins of the season, and then bitch and moan after this loss.
And how would you want us to lose?
I would rather have another 36-0 loss to the Giants where we just get dominated, than lose the way we did on Sunday.
GiantsSuck703 09-25-2007, 05:09 PM I would rather have another 36-0 loss to the Ginats where we just get dominated, than lose the way we did on Sunday.
I would love to agree with you but i just cant, the 36-0 loss was pathetic and the fact that these guys showed fight at the end of the game, despite the horrible plays Saunders was sending in, shows me we have a good team on our hands. I felt sick after the loss but this is my team, has been and always will be til' the day I die, and at the tender age of 22, Im hoping to see the skins play there heart out more and more. We can be mad and trust me I am, but the simple fact is, last year we were a lifeless 5-11 team and this year were a 2-1 fighter who may lose a bad game here or there, but they go down swinging. Campbell showed something on that last drive, and ARE was nearly unstoppable on that last drive, including his monster punt return. Dont be ashamed of this team at all, there very young and losses like this will happen to a team with such youth, but there going to learn from it, Im so excited about where this team is going, sure we lost a game we should have won, but look at the NFC, were still up there in the standings and I think things will only get better.

I understand what you're saying...I thought that at first too. But fact is, we were better than them until the play calling stunk up the place. Also, as Giantsuck says, we made a good attack at the end. There is a lot to build on even though it was a crushing loss.
I firmly believe that if we correct the play calling issues, not only do we win that game, but we are one of the best teams in the NFC.
