ArtMonkDrillz 09-27-2007, 11:44 AM Ok, to believe this is going on and most have said that they have heard this at several if not all the games we would then have to believe this. That all the TV technical people, members of other teams organization, and any one else working on behalf of the NFL (not employees of Snyder) have never noticed this. I just don't believe that all of these people trained to do sound and TV could have not noticed if this was true and someone would have picked this up. When you have that many people in an area like FedEx sound can do some funny stuff.See, that's a valid argument. As I've stated, I know that I've heard what sounded like fake crowd noise coming from the speakers of FedEx, but I could very well be mistaken. Perhaps I was actually hearing the sound from the lower levels echoing off the lights (which are also right behind my usual seats). Or maybe I heard some other kind of "auditory allusion" caused from either the sounds bouncing around or a hot mic picking up background sounds. I guess I have no way of knowing for sure.
But at least you made a valid point, unlike those who say things like "why dont you shut up and scream your asss off and not worry about whats coming out of the speakers, and by the way fedex is so loud and crazy theres no reason for use to play "fake noise"." Seriously I LOVE THE REDSKINS, is that really your argument? Also, how does one "shut up and scream your asss off" at the same time?
I think Dirthogs whole point is that obviously 90,000 people can make a hell of a lot of noise, so why would the FedEx people pump in noise IF they are doing in? And if you actually take the time to read over the posts you'll see that Dirthogs isn't the only person hear who thought he heard this. Are you saying that we're all lying?

Are you asking me if I think they we're lying?

No, sorry, that was more directed at the people who say that FedEx never pumps noise but don't offer any kind of explanation for what people like myself think they're hearing.
Like people who say things like: Originally Posted by Monksdown

12thMan 09-27-2007, 12:17 PM Now I wasn't at the game, but I know a really honest dude who is a season ticket holder, and he was appalled that they pump in fake noise.
Seems like this story keeps cropping up from time to time. I've heard this story more than once from different people.

I've never heard of a "12thMan" that wasn't at the game......sitting on your couch doesn't cut it......13th? It was probually you at the house screaming at the darn tv, where the mystery sound was coming from....? LOL
I go to ALL home games, sit in the 100 section. Have NEVER heard any such "fake crowd noise".......but lots of REAL CROWD NOISE!

Haha..that's funny! I'm the fake 12thMan!
No, he just mentioned that's all. I don't know, don't care.
Chances are though, if we're hearing different people from different souces saying the same thing, it could be true.
FRPLG 09-27-2007, 12:44 PM I don't THINK I heard something. I KNOW it. There is a difference in sound between people being extra loud and sound coming from a speaker. Natural sound is much more diffused while the speaker sound is directed. I believe what was happening was the sound from the stadium was being fed through the speakers. It sound specifically like crowd noise. I have sat in those same seats for 3 years and never heard anything like it remotely. Even on the loudest days it never sounded like that. It happened.
My question is still...who cares? If there were people who couldn't tell I would say that is because the directed sound had little effect other than those directly in its path. The speakers I know sound came from was not pointed at the field. So i really think it did nothing but get the crowd going more. I have no problem with that.
GhettoDogAllStars 09-27-2007, 01:43 PM To all the people who refuse to accept the testimony of a large number of Redskin fans on this site:
You guys make me laugh. How can you discredit the first-hand experience from fans on this site? Everyone is lying, right? Even the people who sat right next to the speakers and confirmed it?
I was at the game, and I didn't hear anything. However, I believe my fellow Redskin fans when they say they did hear it. I'm not surprised it happened, and I don't care.
Another thing:
Not everyone is a sound professional, but we all have ears, and have been hearing sounds for 20, 30, 40, 50, or more years. I think that qualifies all of us to speak on this subject. Just because somebody isn't a sound technician, doesn't mean they don't know how to listen, or they don't know what they are hearing.

You must have been one of the many that had to much to drink if that is what you think...
I had my normal gameday amount yes, which basically means that i couldnt hear much over my own voice.
In response to those that are hyper sensitive about this issue, there are no liars here. If it happened, then it appears to be a one time occurance. Which leads me to believe that it was probably an accident.
If we did it on purpose, then while I wouldnt have resorted to that low, I hope we get away with it.
I just don't like this thread. It's a fact that there are too many lawyers in DC.

That is true enough... of course, I am only on this thread to document my hearing loss.... so I can get in on the class action suit and become a part owner of the Skins.
