Could someone explain to me why we always act like such little girls (no offense to little girls) and drop f-bombs, curse the coaches, and act like our season is toast whenever we lose a game? Something tells me that those same babies are the same fans who loudly boast to others when we win. Get some perspective, quit crying, and quit labeling anyone else as a blind optimist.

Sorry, people who know me know that I tend to shy away from being so harsh and I too am really disappointed with our 2nd half implosion, but I'm getting really really really really tired of seeing the same "I'm freaking out" posts. The coaches made some mistakes, the players made some mistakes, and things didn't go our way yesterday. Deal.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. If Betts scores and we win in OT then, at 3-0, the same people are high-fiving and shouting praise. Some things went well, some didn't.
21-0 in second half is unacceptable. Same game plan won in Philly and they hung 56 on Detroit (should have been more but they took pity). Everything that went well the first 2 weeks (3rd down conversion and 3rd down stops) didn't in the second half. Gotta think with 77 & 76 on the right that ratio would've improved.

As I pointed out in the Portis thread, it was a muffed hand off. Portis never had possession. It's a little different than breaking a 30 yard run and getting stripped from behind.

And yeah, Portis sucked yesterday... He only had 4.3 per carry and a touchdown. Betts was just spectacular with his 1.3 yard average and failed goal line attempts...

It was not a muffed handoff. That fumble was 100% on CP. Portis clinched down on the ball with his hands. You never ever do that on hand offs. You let the QB place the ball in your gut. Football 101. This is the stuff you do over and over again in practice, minicamps, OTA's and so on. Oh yeah, CP didn't participate in any of that stuff. He's too good for that.

Look, I'm not making this a Portis/Betts thing. CP is the better player. But I'm not going to sit here and make excuses for the guy like you are. When he screws up he deserves to get ripped. He screwed up yesterday and as a veteran he should not makes those mistakes.

It's hard to defend Gibb's based on what he has accomplished in his second tenure....i agree....but that does not mean you can't keep the faith...I have never agreed with changing coaches BECAUSE CHANGE DOESNT WORK AND DANIEL SNYDER NEEDS TO UNDERSTAND THAT. Improving your team helps...year to year.....(draft picks) but changing things...especiallly the coach just puts you back to where you started. We changed QB's from Brunell to JC, which I agreed with...but that means we are starting over again and it will take some time. The fans have been patient....and Dan Snyder is starting to show patience...and with this patience wins will come.

JC looked fine.....Gibbs will figure things out....and we will once again become a winning franchise. As long as Snyder doesn't interfere

Thank you! Well put, Sheriff.

Look, we are not the pats. We are not the skins of 91. We are a team trying to get better from a 5 win season with a new QB and a injury hit Oline. We're gonna have days like this! The question is, do we get better from them, or do we loose confidence. Good teams get up from tough losses and get the next win. And I am confident that the staff we have and the team we have will look long and hard at this game film over the next two weeks, and grow and move forward. This is what an 8-8, 9/7 wildcard hopeful looks like. And that's what we are, optimistically speaking.

We blew it. No two ways about it. And there are lots of reasons. I felt part of it was playcalling too, but sometimes you can call the right play, and the players can fail to execute. Which one of you has looked at the tapes, figured out what the play was supposed to do, and THEN concluded that the play calling sucked?

Hindsight is 20/20, y'all. Now calm down.

BTW, I didn't mean to say that people shouldn't express their criticisms of the team and just cheer. In fact, this site would be quite boring without differing opinions about playcalls, play execution, etc. However, there is a world of a difference between airing legitimate concerns in an articulate fashion and just plain whining.

Sheriff.... We only have 16 games and people are pissed because of the way we lost. We probably have more coaches that make more money then any other staff in the history of the NFL. Along with the fact that we have made the playoffs 2 times in the last 14 years. Why aren't we scoring more points? Even against Miami. That game should not have even been close. Miami's defense has gotten killed the last two weeks. The Jets dropped 31 on them with a noddle armed QB Chad Pennington. It's getting old. And when I see that we have a great deep thrower, and I see all these short dink passes ( for the most part) in the 2nd half it pisses me off. I don't care if JC is a young qb. Other young QB's play in more wide open offenses. Look at Romo last night??? Is he that much better than JC??

Something else that no one is talking about is why we didn't we try and get 7 at the end of the half? We had plenty of time to push it down the field but instead we ran the ball and kicked the FG.

If the Giants were the Patriots then it's a different story. You probably wouldn't have all the bitching and moaning cause they are just better. But they were the last ranked defense that got torched by the Packers who have young wr's and a young O-line. That loss is simply on the coaches and it's unacceptable for this coaching staff with all the experience they have.

Hm, this thread is going to go downhill fast.

Gibbs is not perfect, but he is an outstanding coach and hall of famer. IMO he is our best long term chance for us to advance beyond the playoffs.

I don't know about that. I love the guy but when I see the same shit over and over again I'm starting to wonder.

If you bring in a guy to run the offense then let him do it his way. Otherwise why bring him in here?
