Trouble is we couldn't sustain anything long enough in order to take some deep shots.

Actually I was bothered by some of the deeper throws Campbell was taking. He did take some shots, but I don't know why everything had to be like 40+ yards. I wanted more shots over the middle for like 15 yards. Those throws were working a whole lot yesterday. The Giants D was stepping up and shutting down the run. The Skins shouldn't have abandoned it, but they needed to get away from it. I just don't like the way that game went down the stretch. Playcalling or anything else.

Let me ask you this. How come we are only in shotgun on 3rd and long? Why not try running a 3rd and long offense on 1st down to try and get bigger pass plays? It's not as tough to get big pass plays on 1st down then on 3rd down. Why don't we ever line up in shotgun in 1st down???? I'm not say we have to throw it. Hell we can run it. But it just gives the defense something else to think about. These are things that I can see from my TV. It just makes us easier to defend being so damn predictable.

Personally that jumbo crap on the goaline with no timeouts was just terrible. I knew we were going to run the left side. Everyone knew we were going to that side and that's why we got stuffed. That was also on the coaches.

Spiking the ball with 51 seconds on 1st down on the 2 yard line is simply unacceptable and it was piss poor coaching and that's on Joe Gibbs. This clock management bullshit has been going on for three years. Fix it or retire. You don't see teams with good offensive coaching going through stupid things like this. With as much $ as these guys make this should never ever happen and if I were Snyder I would be livid!

moss is really starting to piss me off with his drops

Single biggest concern on the offense right now is Santana Moss. He is not the same guy he was in '05 and to a lesser degree, parts of last year. If defenses are not scared of him, which they are not right now, we're a running team.

Cooley being invisible is the next biggest problem, IMO. We've upgraded at QB in many ways, but comically now our receivers (other than ARE) are regressing.

I gotta disagree with you here -- Jason's arm is one of his many gifts, and I think we both know that if he'd been out there throwing dink-and-dunk (like we've seen for the past how many years??), we'd all be bitching about how we don't ever throw down the field.

We are supposed to have receivers who can stretch the field and catch those kinds of passes. Now, Jason's accuracy hasn't been pinpoint, but I do think that he's thrown some catchable deep balls, that Santana Moss '05 would definitely have caught, for one, and maybe even Brandon Lloyd '05 would have gone up and grabbed.

Think about how many drops we've seen on those deep balls in the past 3 weeks that would have been absolute back-breakers and momentum changers... those things force defensive coordinators to change their schemes. Those things convince Joe it's safe to mix it up instead of relying on the Super Bowl Security Blanket (conservative playcalling).

And, more to the point, Eli was throwing a lot of junk Burress' way when he was covered reasonably well, and he was going up and getting those balls. Jason was not getting the same help from his receivers (again, ARE excepted).

Watch the Patriots. The Patriots are better than we are offensively. By a lot.

If the concept of killer instinct is actually just referring to a team being really good week in and week out for 60 mins on every play...then this team definately lacks that.

Because for that, we would need to upgrade about 6 offensive positions to reach the Pats level of offensive efficiency (which means 6 more high priced free agents). Has nothing to do with the playcalling.

Or it is just that coaches are more comfortable with Brady going deep and making throws with a lead than we are with Campbell.

No queston they are better. But they are better coached too. Sorry but it's just something I see in the game planning and play calling.

Forget about them this year. Look at their wr's last year?? Caldwell, Gaffney and Chad (total bust) Jackson. They were still a top offense that almost got to the SB with those WR's.

I brought this up in another thread. How come we never are in the shotgun on 1st down? How come we don't run 3rd down offense on 1st down? That is the best time to make big plays. On first down, not 3rd and long. I could go on and on......

C'mon Quake. If Derek Anderson can throw for 5 td's one week than so can JC. What can JC do well right now? Throw it deep.

A tough game to watch at the end...Raubach had some penalties that could have cost them the game..watching the team rally together and get it down to the one and end up losing is a tough pill to swallow..I like our match-up against detroit though.. they have no running game and our secondary should hold them in check soon this loss will be behind us...
