SFREDSKIN 09-18-2007, 12:54 AM He's back and he will make other teams pay. The abuse is over, people will start to respect the Skins again. I'm tired of hearing the game has passed him by, that Bill Walsh, Parcells and Belicheat are better than him. I know is early but I can feel it that he is on to something special. My dream would be to make it to the SB against the Patriots and beating them. That would verify that Gibbs is the best coach ever. I'll keep wishing for that day.
BrudLee 09-18-2007, 08:17 AM Me and some of the mods were talking about his on the secret forum we use to make fun of you guys. Gibbs is looking at all of the "innovators" out there, and realizing they are imitations of him in his first run. He's not grampa, he's a Hall of Famer, and wants to go out as such.
skinsfan_nn 09-18-2007, 08:31 AM The only doubters I know are a bunch of dumb ass sports writers. That don't know there ass hole from a hole in the ground.
hagams 09-18-2007, 08:48 AM There are no doubters....there are only unworthy ones.
Daseal 09-18-2007, 08:59 AM Before we even talk playoffs, I want us to beat a team that's either doing well this year or at least had a winning record last year. We're really going to have to up our points scored to hang with the likes of Dallas. Granted their D isn't very good, but I don't consider Phillies D very good either.

Philly's D is still tough. They held GB to no td's & they made us work hard. If Sheppard can come back healthy & Dawkins is ok, their D will come along. They've got depth on the d-line & the youg LB Gaither is good.
I look at last night & see great improvement in our offense. JC will continue to improve, I'm just worried about Thomas being lost.
Philly still has a very tough D, not sure what this nonsense is all about.

While I do not discount the win at Philly at all! It's HUGE. I have to agree. We need to put up more points. There is some minor tweaking to be done to the O. JC will make more of his throws and the guys will STOP dropping the damn ball. That will happen quick I believe.
In the interim, we are still winning. And we are doing it with a new line, after some gigantic injury problems to same. THAT is what good teams do! Improvise, adapt, and overcome

SmootSmack 09-19-2007, 01:10 AM The game last night reminded me of another Redskins vs. Eagles game from 15 years ago, and one of my favorite Gibbs' quotes ever.
WashingtonPost.com: The Redskins Book: Page 172 (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/sports/redskins/longterm/book/pages/172.htm)
It was the first week of 1991, and the Redskins were facing a playoff game against the Eagles. While the Redskins had missed the playoffs the two previous seasons, Gibbs had lost none of his magic, especially in motivating his team. To help get the Redskins ready for the Eagles, he had taunted his players, saying:
"If you lose this game, Buddy Ryan is going to call you a bunch of fat asses like he did last time. If you don't mind being called a bunch of fat asses, that's your business."
Whatever the result this year, it's clear that Gibbs is on a mission
hooskins 09-19-2007, 01:23 AM 2 games means nothing. If it does mean something to you, where are the Al Saunders doubters????
I have been supporting him since he came here, and at the end of last year there was soo much hatred for him. I want to say the majority of people on this messaging board felt we didnt need him. Joe didnt call the TD to Cooley, it was Al. Joe didnt call the long bombs, that was all Al. Gibbs even said that in his pressers.
I am not going to bring up old threads and call people out, but there were a ton of haters.
