check this site out,
hard to believe someone could put together such a crazy analysis of the offense and defense, as well as really cool breakdown on the skins cover 3, Portis missing a block that caused Jansen's injury and bunch of other stuff ...

Damn, nice breakdown.
I don't agree with the thought that CP didn't do a good job though on the play where Jansen got hurt.
Think about how quickly that whole play went down. First CP is looking to his left thinking he's going to have to help pick up Taylor, then all of a sudden he sees Thomas shooting through and he has to adjust and get over to pick him up instead. I think CP did the best that he could do under the circumstances.

I'm loving that dillweed, whoever he is. One thing I notice on the play where Jansen got hurt: Pete Kendall completely stymied his man. The guy never got off the line of scrimmage. Beautiful. I think he's way better than Dock on pass pro. That might be the best move we've made in some time.
Regarding Carlos, I thought the book on him in college was he was a physical corner. I've never seen him get his hands on a WR and jam him.

Wow, this is a pretty impressive analysis and for the most part is dead on. I will certainly be bookmarking that site.

Ok after checking out just the part on Portis I have to completely disagree. First off the "General rule of thumb" is correct and his initial movements are correct as he identified Taylor as the likliest person to get to the QB since he probably could not immediately identify Thomas coming out from behind the DL. When he does notice Thomas he makes the adjustment but is simply too late. He seems to assert that Portis is poor at pass blocking while I know for a fact that he is considered among the best in the game at it. The only key to this play was Taylor's jump. It set in motion a domino effect that led to Jansen's injury. Without that jump Portis is able to step forward in the pocket and identify Thomas earlier and in better position. He likely get s a better block and probably no sack or injury. His analysis is simply wrong on this.

We have linked to this site a few times before. It's good. I apologize for treating it as spam early on.

Otherwise he seems pretty on. I didn't feel nearly as badly about Smoot as everyone else did. I was at the game and he seemed solid if not spectacular from above.
