I agree, our offense has to finish drives with touchdowns. If we keep on settling for field goals I think we are going to have to settle for another sub
.500 season.

I agree that Philly didnt look good but the game was in GB. For that matter, the Skins didnt look all that great (at home) against a below average Miami team.

Like I said if this game was in DC the Skins win but its not so they dont.

You keep saying "below" average Miami team. Yes, a below-average team with one of the best defenses in the NFL.

Philly got beat by a below-average team, one without even a RB they can rely on.

Miami's offense is not great, but we beat one of the top defenses. In fact, we ran all over them.

Philly should not be very hard for us to beat.

When I looked at the schedule a few weeks ago to analyze the W's and L's and potential record for this season this game was a LOSS. I don't know many people in their right minds who would have thought the Skins would steal one in Philly based on what we saw in the preseason. I still think the Skins will end up 10-6 and this will be one of the Losses. I hope I am wrong and I will be screaming and holler'n just like any other fan but that doesn't mean I can't look at this logically and say the odds are very much against us and I am not a Redskin fan because of that assessment.

Let's be realistic, this is a team that will get better and better each week. There is some light at the end of the tunnel, unfortunately this week I think will be a struggle and the Skins are just not good enough to overcome those adverse conditions just YET.

Being a true fan is not being realistic. No real fan goes into a game saying "I think we'll lose by a field goal". :)

Philly is a 7 point favorite, Over/Under is 39. Now, from that game last week, there's no way this is going to fly. I'm guessing they are trying to get people to bet on the Skins perhaps.

Philly gets the edge playing at home. They have one of the best offensive threats in the league in Brian Westbrook. McNabb is hobbled still by injuries, and they have a bunch of #3 WRs playing for them. Their defense is carried by Takeo Spikes, Brian Dawkins, and Sheldon Brown.

The Skins are coming off an overtime win at home against a less than stellar Dolphins team. Campbell showed off his youth with several 20+ yard passes along with several mistakes. The tandem of Portis and Betts will carry the load all year, as they did last week (34 carries, 157 yards, 1 TD). Randle El will not have many games this year like this past one, especially with the quality in the Eagles secondary. Cooley needs to get the ball more for this offense to be successful. The defense played fairly well, and will need a plan to contain Westbrook and make McNabb throw into our secondary.

Monday Night, Eagles at home, is a recipe for destruction. No matter what the records are, when the NFC East teams play each other, it's a war.

Eagles 20
Skins 17

Last minute FG by Akers, folllowed by a Campbell interception ends the game. Take the Skins with the points and the under.

Moss will forget about last week and those crucial drops. He will make up for it this week, when we certainly will need his best efforts.

The D will be firing on all cylinders this week, McNabb better watch out. Maybe Smoot'll get his hands on one (and catch it).

And I know that Philly is gonna be pumped because they don't want to fall into an 0-2 hole this early, but the Redskins will overpower it. This isn't the same Eagles team that won the division however many years in a row, they're just another average NFC team, and theres no reason why we shouldn't be able to just go up there and knock their block off completely.

1) Portis and Betts will combine for over 200 rushing yards
2) I'm predicting a defensive TD this week
3) Not really sold on Campbell yet, but he's still young, and throws a great long ball.
4) Cooley has got to play a more important role this week. He's my favorite player on the roster, and it hurt to see him only get one catch last week (even though it was the one kept the game winning drive alive)

Redskins - 31
Eagles - 13

Based on last year's stats Miami has a good D. Maybe its different this year. Remember the Skins thought the D was great after 05 and they were terrible in 06. The Skins did what they needed to do to win last week and Philly didnt but this is a new week and a new game.

You are crazy if you think Philly will not be tough in Philly. Every game is tough in the NFL.

Almost 60% is not elite in a west coast offense. He completed 54% before he got hurt again last year. If Jason Campbell lost all those big games, I think I, and many others, would be saying, "Jason Campbell can't win the big game." I don't understand the devotion of Redskins fans for this guy. The Eagles fans watch him every week and they don't feel this way about him. Donovan is a good quarterback who has been dinged up for the last three years. He and the offense he plays in lean heavily on the screen pass which pads his stats and doesn't require him to do much. He used to make a lot of plays with legs, now he sometimes makes plays with his arm. He's not now what he once was, and what he once was was not what some people think it was. I don't understand why Redskins fans have such an emotional attachment to a Philadelphia Eagle.

I don't have an emotional attachment. I can just respect a good football player, regardless of what team he plays for. To say screen passes pads his stats is ridicules. Every team in the NFL throws screen passes. Philly throws it downfiled as much as anyone. His play speaks for itself.
