I saw something the other day that got me to thinking. The first 5 QB's taken in the 2004 draft are all starters in the NFL...how many times in history has that happened at a minimum of 3 years later?
1st round, pick 1- Eli Manning
1st round, pick 4- Philip Rivers
1st round, pick 11- Ben Roethlisberger
1st round, pick 22- J.P. Losman
3rd round, pick 90- Matt Schaub

The class of '06 is close:

Young, Leinart, Cutler and Tarvaris Jackson are starting, and if Pennington can't go this Sunday, Kellen Clemens would start, those were the first 5 off the board in that year.

If you're talking about years in which the top picks all became starters at some point (regardless of whether they kept their jobs), you could count the class of '02: Carr, Harrington, Ramsey, McCown, Garrard

After that it gets significantly fuzzier...

Man, looking back at the Schaub pick in the 3rd round, really makes the Losman pick look stupid.

Losman is pretty bad, but that 2004 class was pretty damn good overall.

2006 also.

2005 sucked, but I'm happy to root for the one team that got a franchise QB out of that draft.

2007 will probably suck too, unless you're an Eagles or Browns fan (which we are not).

We all are big time Browns fans this year. Dallas gets their number 1 pick next year.

The way things look now the Pukes will have a Top3 pick next April. Only KC and Oakland could battle for No. 1 with them.

Because the Browns gave the Cowboys their number one in 08 in exchange for moving up in the first round to get Quinn

thanks, that was driving me crazy to forget that....... well if they do much better or not, the Coyboys will still get a nice pick from them.... and will hopefully screw it up.... way to early in the season to worry about pick positions already.... playoffs are THE priority now
