There some beef going on between the NFL and Cable companies. I hope this is case of posturing.

It's not going anywhere. Too much money to be made.

The NFL wants 70 cents per subscriber per month? WTF? To put that into perspective, in the case of Comcast which has 12.7 million digital cable subscribers the NFL wants $106.68 million per year.

That actually seems fair since Comcast is charging three dollars a month for NFL Network now.

Wow...just for that ONE channel?
I get it for free with the NFL Sunday ticket. Of course it's all relative considering the Sunday ticket is over $200 a year.

Could that analyst have said any less? Cable companies are dumb. .70 is cheapo. They ought to make it happen.

You should just get it for having directv. I know my dad does and he does not get the sunday ticket. I also get it on Dish Network and I can not get the sunday ticket with Dish Network...

I wonder if it wasn't connected then? I just remember when it came out, they said it was paired with the sunday ticket...it might not be anymore.

I am not sure, I know me and my brother bought the directv equipment from wal-mart back in 1998 for my dad for christmas. My dad lives about 1/2 mile back in the woods and until he got directv he only had an antenna that picked up channels 3(PSU),6(NBC), and 10(CBS). So, when the NFL Network started back on the 4th of November 2003, dad got it. He never got the sunday ticket, he is too tight with his money to get the sunday ticket...

Nothing is for free, you're paying for it every time you pay your bill. DirectTV isn't paying the NFL $700 million a year for nothing.
