He really surprised a lot of people last year didn't he. jsarno 09-11-2007, 01:18 AM How about the entire SKins team...we're winning it all! GusFrerotte 09-11-2007, 01:47 AM Probably Detroit or Green Bay. With goods producing industries in long term decline as more and more production of US firms is moved offshore, the engineering professions are in decline." Redskins8588 09-11-2007, 03:44 AM Just letting you know the Raiders have one of the best pass defenses in the NFL so a pat on the back to John. Even though he has to of the most freakishly athletic receivers in the NFL. Yes, last season the Raiders did have the best pass defense in the league. They gave up 150 yards passing per game. But the same Raider defense last year was 25th for run defense giving up 134 yards a game. So, if you are an opposing head coach and you have a lead against the Raiders at half time, and you know that they can not stop the run, what is most likly going to happen in the second half? I am going out on a limb with this and say that the opposing team is going to run the ball in the second half, alot. My point is that the Raiders pass defense was "ranked" 1st but teams didn't have to pass against them to beat them. They couldn't stop the run and Oaklands offense wasn't going to light it up to where the Raiders would be in a shoot out with anyone. I do not think that there pass defense is that great. I think that their "ranking" is over inflated due to them being so bad that teams did not have to pass against them often to win the game. To further prove my point the Raiders "WONDERFUL PASS DEFENSE" had only 410 pass attempts which puts them last in the league in that catogory. Where as the Vikings had 599 passes attempted against their pass defense and they only gave up 15 passing TD'S, where the Raiders pass D gave up 17 TD's. Not only did the Vikings pass D get thrown against for 189 times more but they still gave up 2 TD's less than Oakland. In conclusion, the Oakland Raiders were and still are the worst team in the NFL. No one should be touting the Raiders pass defens as good, because as I pointed out they are WAY, WAY WAY, OVERRATED!!! Very truly yours, Redskins8588 |
