My MVP has to be Suisham. The conservative play calling put all the weight on the kicker's shoulders and he came through every time. Portis had a memorable game and so did Randle El but Suisham won the game.

Swish. He was 3/3 and basically an unproven kicker thrust into a key situation and he came through with flying colors.

Gibbs said he didn't want to risk a penalty pushing them out of range.

I read his quotes and that sounds like playing scared to me. I'd like to think that he asked Suisham about & SS said there was no wind & the kick would be easy. I'd also like to think that Gibbs set him up to build his confidence. We could look back at this as crucial to his development. Hopefully.

Everyone who saw that knows it was a horrible call.

Yeah, only because the ball was uncatchable, but I think Trent made that throw because he could see how physical Carlos was being. It was a veteran read trying to draw the flag. A ref is always going to call a CB holding back the WR's arm from reaching for a pass.

Because his panning out is vital to the future of our secondary (if he's a bust, we go into the draft next year with no starting caliber CBs, if he breaks out, we won't miss Springs very much at all), and every time he gets thrown at, its a completion.

Carlos made two great tackles yesterday, one on a running play, and one saving a Booker TD, and we've come to expect that from him, and thats why he deserves to stay in the starting lineup. Problem is, we are now a game into his third season, and he's still not half the cover guy Springs is. He's really got to step it up.

Right now, Rogers and Smoot are going to start at corner for us next year, and that can't sit easy with anyone right now. With all the age on the offensive line, we can't really afford to invest more in the CB position. Carlos needs to start locking down his side right away.

Very well put. There's no doubt that Carlos closes in quick and is a sure tackler, just wish the coverage skills were there and he would be a solid # 1 CB.

I don't know guys. We were missing Springs all day yesterday and they only put up 13 points on us. I'm pretty satisfied all the way around with the D. I mean they put the ball in the air THIRTY EIGHT TIMES for an average of not even six yards a pass. Seems like the guys were doing their jobs to me.

CP was a close second for me. He averaged 5.8 ypc against a very good defense; tallying almost 100 yards on 17 carries.

CP was #1 MVP. For all of the reasons above.

I gotta go with Mr. Portis.

He came out strong, after many questioned his ability to be the feature back anymore.

He had our only TD.

His pass blocking was a huge factor in the little pressure JC recieved.

He is instrumental to our Offense. He is our Offense, He has been our Offense, and will be all season. Without him JC doesnt progess smoothly and we dont have a RB that can put up 6. He's The Man. This season should be built around him, and from that should come our fabled explosive offense.

Portis 17 carries, 98 yards, 1 TD. Who needs the preseason??

Randle El: 5 catches, 162 yards. Do we finally have a #2??

Rocky McIntosh: all over the field with a forced fumble, sack, and 9 tackles.

Suisham: 3/3 with the game winner.

Simple and plain, if Suisham misses one of his three kicks then we lose!

HE was perfect and we got the "W"

I would have to say Randle El just because he was the only reciever that really did anything the entire game. He consistantly moved the chains and provoided a deep recieving option. Brandon Llyod was nonexistant and Moss had butterfingers even though Campbell missed him a couple of times. I would like to see this unit succeed as a whole than just having one guy do all the work. Where was Cooley that entire game? Randle El had less than 400 yards all last year and already has over 150 in one game...we need balance and consistency in the passing game.
