I think either Wade or Heyer will fill in nicely. The problem now becomes DEPTH. I would think that we will be searching the wire for some Off Tackles if the docs say Jansen is done for the year and/or an time that goes past 6 weeks.

I liked the rookie. I was very, very impressed to not hear his name as the game progressed. That's the sign of a successful offensive lineman. Id rather see the rookie use this year to grow into the backup he'll probably be for his career. And starting reps will give him the experience he needs.

It's gonna be Wade (Redskins Insider (http://blog.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/) if not already posted somewhere) from this point on.. I think that's probably a good thing, he's a veteran, typically plays RT, lets Heyer remain as quality depth at both OT positions..

i was really impressed with Wades play last season. Heyer gives the skins some depth. did an OK job after being rushed into playing

Yep. The only reason Wade didn't replace Jansen yesterday was because Wade was inactive, partly because of the sore shoulder, but mainly because the Skins didn't think they'd need him. The shoulder thing is minor, and now that the Skins know they'll need him, he'll be the starter.
There's no way Stephon Heyer could ever be considered a better choice at RT than Todd Wade. RT is exactly where Wade belongs - and to be truthful - I see no downgrade going from Jansen to Wade.
It's just our T depth is thin now. Heyer is an adequate backup, but I don't want him starting. Did we notice how absent Cooley was yesterday? That's because he was helping Heyer in pass protection. We need him running routes, so we need Wade to hold his own.

Well we've also got Jason Fabini at T as well

Heyer was good but he did get pushed back pretty bad a few times and Dierdorf remarked that he was playing too high on Taylor. If Wade is healthy he should be in there. Maybe and maybe not. Heyer has a lot to learn but he has alot to work with. Some of th OL men we have drafted lately you can't say that about. He was playing against a pro bowl type player so it is a big step to having a young line for seasons to come. Pluse D line coach can work on that being too high and other things!!!
