According to Pro Football Prospectus 2007...
How to watch pro football: three sleeper teams for 2007. - By Aaron Schatz - Slate Magazine (http://www.slate.com/id/2173233/entry/2173269/)
Interesting stuff, I like their method of analysis (esp cuz it has the skins doing well) because it isn't just pure speculation and "gut" feeling like most NFL analysts rely on.

where does it say anything about playoffs? I just see the part about us having a better third down defense
They make a good point about the 3rd down defense. Any improvement in that area will definitely make a huge difference.

Yeah, I remember last year being absolutely pitiful. It was like you could always, ALWAYS guarantee the other team sustaining these PAINFUL twenty play drives.

On a somewhat related note, Steve Sabol (NFL Films) was on a radio show out here in CT this morning and said the Redskins would be the surprise team of this year

I like that coming from Sabol. He knows more about football than most of the idiots at ESPN and other media outlets. Most of the ex-jocks clearly put little effort into researching what teams have done in the offseason to improve. Schlereth saying that the Skins did nothing to improve their defense is a case in point.

sabol and clayton both like us this year. i trust their opinion more than anyone else's as far as the whole espn/announcer/etc crap goes. jaws is alright too.
we've quietly had a good, but not amazing, offseason. still need a DE and #2 WR, but everything else is looking pretty good.

Of all the media outlets, people have to admit that ESPN does a pretty damn good job. Do they have their share of jerks (e.g., Lenny P.)? Yes, but they also have great guys like Mort, Clayton, Jaws, etc.

but hopefully we get some contribution from chris wilson on passing downs & B. Loyd steps up, i.e. those positions might be alright, but I get your point. If Loyd can just be counted on as a deep threat, that'd be an improvement.
