Draft Class of 2007 Very Poorwilsowilso 09-01-2007, 08:38 PM I loved our draft. Laron Landry = I love it! dall-assblows 09-01-2007, 08:41 PM If Landry and Blades are starters in the next couple years I regard this as a good draft considering we had no picks in 2-4. the %s are never good for 6 & 7th rounders. I'm disappointed that Palmer couldn't make the practice squad, but he didn't do much to deserve it. We really need to groom a young backup to JC. he'll make practice squad. SFREDSKIN 09-01-2007, 09:21 PM On the other side of the coin we also got: Lorenzo Alexander Stephon Heyer Marcus Mason Leigh Torrence Chris Wilson I think the practice squad guys will be: Trucks or Sinclair Palmer Buzbee Westbrook Hoag JoeRedskin 09-02-2007, 08:08 AM I cant believe that they threw away draft choices for both Sartz and Palmer. I was so proud of them last year for Montgomery and Golston and they go and get us these two poor choices. By the way, who in the hell thought Boschetti was better than Wynn and the rest of the line men. Apparently we kept more second day draft choices than the brilliant NE Patriots. Admittedly, it is probably harder to crack their squad BUT for those griping that every pick isn't on the squad - apparently that happened on more than one or two teams this year. • The Patriots apparently didn't like this draft. Only two choices -- safety Brandon Meriweather and defensive end Kareem Brown -- made the 53-man roster. The Patriots cut four second-day choices and placed two more on injured reserve; another was waived because of injury. From the start of camp, teams were hearing the Patriots weren't going to keep many of their second-day selections. For them, it's wait until next year. Here is the whole article - according to Clayton, a lot of draft choices didn't make the cut. By the way, who in the hell thought Boschetti was better than Wynn and the rest of the line men. what are you smoking? those were low low round picks. no one shoots 100% on a draft, ever. we got blades and heyer as a UDFA and those are great values. bosch sucks, but he's not 33 and making 4mill a year. not everything is just play on the field. price/performance is pretty important too. but bosch still sucks. JWsleep 09-02-2007, 03:30 PM We cut those guys because we have depth at LB and (yes, believe it or not) at QB. Plus, Startz is hurt and Palmer will be on the practice squad. Not a bad draft, IMO. paulskinsfan 09-02-2007, 04:52 PM We cut those guys because we have depth at LB and (yes, believe it or not) at QB. We had 2 guys from our entire draft make the team, Id call it a bad draft, especially after our front office had no picks rounds 2-4. saden1 09-02-2007, 05:15 PM We had 2 guys from our entire draft make the team, Id call it a bad draft, especially after our front office had no picks rounds 2-4. What about undrafted players making the team? paulskinsfan 09-02-2007, 05:20 PM What about undrafted players making the team? Well we can interpret that 2 ways, either our scouting did a kick ass job with UDFA OR, our team's backups were just that weak. Jury is still out on that one, but our draft was not good. |
