Though Bill Cowher will likely be in high demand the next time a coaching job opens up, the Super Bowl winning coach plans to remain with CBS as an analyst for at least this year and 2008, according to a report on USA Today's Web site.

"We're spending Labor Day weekend at the beach," Cowher said in the report. "I haven't been able to do that since I started coaching. ... This allows football to be a big part of my life but not an all-consuming part."

I'm sure he's enjoying his time away from coaching. There's really no need for him to rush back as he's still pretty young.

I can't see Cowher staying out more than two seasons.
I know he is enjoying the family stuff, but.......if the truth were being told, he's climbing the walls right now because its the best time of the NFL season with all the un-tested anticipation, and he's on the outside.

I can see him coaching the Browns, Cowboys, or Redskins in a couple few years.

I can't really say I understand what the point of this thread was

I'd say it's a pretty relevant thread. He's the most sought after coach who's not officially on the market right now.

With Gibbs' contract running out after the 2008 season (coincidence?) he's been mentioned as a possible heir to the head coaching throne in Washington.

I'd put Cleveland near the top of his next plausible locations.

Yeah but I mean isn't this just repeating what he's been saying for weeks, if not months now, that he has no plans to coach at the moment?

I suppose I would have thought it more relevant had he said something like "I plan on being an analyst for one year only and then I fully intend to get back to coaching" or "I've already discussed opportunties with a few NFL teams." Something along those lines.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. He won't come back til 2009 at the earliest, when Gibbs contract is over. Thing is if we don't get the job done this year, by the time Cowher might come in a lot of the players might bolt, leaving us in a perpetual rebuilding mode, yet again.

The point of this thread is that Yahoo Sports rumor mongers have suggested that Bill "Chinny Chin Chin" Cowher could be the coach of our beloved Skins.

Money talks if Gibbs can't get it together this year or get us even close to the Superbowl & Snyder throws big money Cowher's way and you know he still has the passion to coach he will bite. Jordan did Jay-Z did if you have the passion you will go back............... Jay-Z did lol
