Ryan Hoag is 6' 2". He held on to that ball against Pittsburgh in the 2 minute drill. He is the only reserve that has done anyhting that comes close to anything. I say we keep him as the 5th receiver. If we cut him, he could be the next Keenan McCardell.

Not to break your balls, but couldn't any WR we cut?

He has a good chance. If Sellers were to go down (God forbid) any play that calls for a lead blocker would have to be thrown out. I think they were looking for one of the youngsters to fill that role but it didn't pan out.

Also, am I taking crazy pills? PFT reports the Dolphins may cut Chris Chambers? What's up with that? Is this a different Chris Chambers or something? I don't keep up with everything but I thought he was their top guy.

Chambers?? That guy would be picked up in a heartbeat. He catches a lot of balls, but I think he dropps his fair share too. Wow, now that is a rumor.

Michael Westbrook was tall too.

Height doesn't guarantee success.

I don't think we'll pick up another WR. Moss, ARE, Lloyd and Bradford will work. I was hoping Espy would be in the mix before we lost him to injury.

It was a little bit of a joke. Obviously not very effective.

My position is this: If we only have 4 receivers worth keeping, that's all we should keep. Cooley is half wide-receiver anyway. And, we may be able to pick up a fifth once the axe falls on September 1.

Adam Schefter reported that Reggie Williams, Michael Clayton, and Chris Chambers might be cut or traded in the last two's case. Miami wants to get rid of Chambers because he has a huge salary and a huge cap hit, and they are cap strapped. Tampa Bay wants to get rid of Clayton because he hasn't done shit since his rookie season.

He won't be...Del Rio said he dropped him on the charts to motivate him, he will likely be the #2 in Jacksonville.

In all fairness (Reggie Williams aside...see my last post) Chambers would be GREAT for us. I do not want to pay his salary though, and he likely would be on EVERYONE's sign list. Clayton still has good talent, but we have people in his mold.
In both cases, they are a product of horrible QB's. You CAN NOT play well when you have a poor QB. See Randy Moss! (a slew of others too) So they could resurrect their careers with a change of scenery.
